A Former Browns Star Was Interviewing for NFL Coaching Jobs This Offseason

Signing free agents and interviewing for open positions was an interesting situation this NFL offseason, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There are plenty of details we will never find out, but we did recently learn that a former star for the Cleveland Browns interviewed for some coaching positions this offseason.
He did not get the position he interviewed for, but former wide receiver and kick returner Josh Cribbs did have interest in some positions around the league.
Texans elevated Tracy Smith to special teams coordinator to replace Brad Seely, who retired last month. They interviewed former NFL players Josh Cribbs and Sammy Morris before promoting Smith, who spent the last 11 years with Seely and is starting his third season with Texans

Many don't realize that this was not Cribbs' first expression of interest to get into the coaching world. Last season, he tweeted that he could not coach for his former team. However, due to them trading for Odell Beckham Jr. and looking stacked, he joked he would come out of retirement.
Instead of coaching for the Browns like he wanted, Cribbs spent last season as a coaching intern for the Houston Texans, the same organization he interviewed to be the special teams coordinator. It seems like just a matter of time before the former special teams star turns into a special teams coach.
Well... since I can’t coach for them, I’m coming out of retirement to join the Browns ??♂️ #Obj + #Juice + #baker = #2020ClevelandRocks #DawgPoundNation #engaged

In 10 NFL seasons, Cribbs returned three punts for touchdowns and eight kickoffs for touchdowns, with 15,453 total return yards. It seems like he has some wisdom that he could pass down to a special teams group.
