The Detroit Lions are one of the league's worst defensive teams against the run so far this season. Ahead of next week's trade deadline, it was something they were looking to solve and it seems they have accomplished that by acquiring the Giants pro-bowl defensive tackle Damon Harrison in exchange for a 5th-round pick.

Prior to this trade, the Lions' defense wasn't fantasy relevant, but with Harrison, maybe they could be. Harrison has been the best-run stopper in the NFL for the last three seasons and is on pace to be in contention for that title again this season.

The Lions ranked 27th in the NFL against running backs in standard PPR scoring this season. Making a move for a player like Harrison was a dire need for a team that looks like it will be fighting for a playoff spot all the way through Week 17.
