4 Best NFL Tight Ends Likely to Hit Free Agency in 2020

This year's crop of free agent tight ends isn't likely to offer any marquee players, as teams with top tight ends are making them an increasingly crucial part of their offense. That's not to say there isn't going to be some sneaky value on the open market.
If a team needs help at the position, here are some of the top options they could be considering for the new league year.
1. Tyler Eifert, Cincinnati Bengals
If not for the injuries that derailed his career, Eifert probably wouldn't end up on this list. He'll be 30 next September, giving him a little more time for a comeback in the right situation. He played in all 16 games this season (his first time ever doing that in the NFL), posting 436 yards and three touchdowns on 43 receptions. He made the Pro Bowl in 2015, when he 615 yards and 13 touchdowns in 13 games, and while his days as an elite option might be behind him, but he's still talented enough to make an impact on the right team.
2. Jacob Hollister, Seattle Seahawks
It took injuries to both Will Dissly and Luke Willson before Hollister got his shot, but he's taken the opportunity and run with it. The former New England Patriot posted 349 yards and three touchdowns in 11 regular season games in his expanded role. He's a restricted free agent, so his future is contingent on Seattle's plans, but he can prove to be a nice complimentary piece for his new team should the Seahawks let him walk with Dissly returning.
3. Ricky Seals-Jones, Cleveland Browns
The story of Ricky Seals-Jones' 2019 season is very similar to Jacob Hollister's. David Njoku goes down with an injury and in steps the former Arizona Cardinal, tallying 229 yards and four touchdowns. His role was still limited, which shouldn't be a surprise considering the wealth of options quarterback Baker Mayfield had at his disposal. He put his big play ability on display, though, averaging 16.4 yards per reception. If Cleveland lets the 24-year-old walk, he could continue to blossom elsewhere on a team-friendly deal.
4. Charles Clay, Arizona Cardinals
Charles Clay didn't ever find his footing in Arizona, but the soon-to-be-31-year-old will likely find a new home next season, given his long-term production. Since 2013, Clay has played in at least 13 games every season, posting an average of 489 receiving yards and 2.7 touchdowns per year over that span. Kliff Kingsbury's offense didn't feature much work for any of their tight ends, and Clay could serve as a bargain receiving tight end in a new home next year.
