Zulu Kingdom Scratched From 2026 Breeders’ Cup Mile

Trainer Chad Brown announced Wednesday that Zulu Kingdom has been scratched from the 2026 Breeders’ Cup Mile. No reason was given.

Vina Arana, trained by Jack Sisterson, was the lone also-eligible drawn for the Mile and is in line to move into the main body of the field.

Brown also scratched Gaudreau from Friday’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile after that colt spiked a fever.

Zulu Kingdom, a colt by Ten Sovereigns owned by Madaket Stables and Michael S. Dubb, had drawn post 6 at 15-1 with Flavien Prat named to ride. He won the Maker’s Mark Mile over the Keeneland turf in April and finished fifth in the Coolmore Turf Mile last out.

Notable Speech remains the 7-5 morning-line favorite in the race FanDuel sponsors.

The FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Mile is Race 9 on Saturday, Oct. 31, at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky, with an approximate post time of 4:20 p.m. ET.
