WNBA Best Bets

Indiana Fever at Seattle Storm

Fever +5.5 (-112)

Caitlin Clark to Score Over 19.5 Points (-115)

The Indiana Fever and the Seattle Storm will collide tonight, both looking to finally get on track. Considering the expectations each of these teams had coming into the season, this is an important game for both.

It feels like it's going to be a fight to get a much-needed win. Indiana remains winless, sitting at 0-4 to start the Caitlin Clark era. Seattle, on the other hand, put together a new big three when pairing Jewell Loyd with Skylar Diggins-Smith and Nneka Ogwumike. Yet they have one win in four games -- not great.

The good news for the Storm is that Ogwumike, who missed the last game due to an ankle injury, is listed as questionable heading into tonight's game but is expected to start.

That brings us to the game tonight, which is one I expect to be close -- making me side with the Fever to cover at +5.5 (-112).

There's a reason the Fever is sitting at 0-4 -- their first four games have come against the New York Liberty and Connecticut Sun, two of the top three teams in the WNBA. It's no wonder they've found themselves looking up, but their last game showed they have the fight to compete, losing 88-84 to the Sun.

Both the Fever and Storm rank bottom-three in points per game so far, with Indiana averaging 75.3 and Seattle averaging 77.5. Given how they're performing, it lines up well to be close.

And that brings us to our prop bet of the night: Caitlin Clark to Score Over 19.5 Points (-115).

Clark has one game where she really struggled, scoring just nine points. Otherwise, she's finished with 20, 22, and 17 points to start her career, bringing her to an average of 17.0 points overall.

What's so inviting about her last two outings is that she has shot 14-for-28, good for 50% of the field. She's also 7-of-17 from three-point range in that stretch. The 2024 first overall pick is finding her game, and I like her to hit 20 or more points as she tries to lead the Fever to their first win.

It should make for a good game tonight, so consider getting in on the big tilt between the Fever and Storm.
