The 2024 NFL schedule is set to release on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024, but a couple marquee contests have already gone public.

The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, September 5th for the campaign's first regular season game.

Additionally, Monday Night Football of Week 1 (Sep. 9) has also been announced. In that meeting, the New York Jets will travel to Northern California where the San Francisco 49ers await; kickoff at Levi's Stadium is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET.

This primetime clash offers numerous storylines and reunions. Notably, the 49ers are still looking for their sixth Lombardi Trophy after losing a second Super Bowl in four years. From there, the entire sporting community is still eager to see quarterback Aaron Rodgers perform in Gotham Green.

Weirdly enough, the defender -- pass rusher Leonard Floyd -- who sacked Rodgers when he ruptured his Achilles in last season's opener now plays for San Francisco. That should give Rodgers an extra chip on his shoulder, although he usually doesn't need one for matchups with the Niners.

As a NorCal native (and former California Golden Bears star), Rodgers and San Francisco are eternally linked after the 49ers passed on the future Hall-of-Famer at the 2005 NFL Draft in lieu of Alex Smith.

Still, the initial MNF battle of the 2024 campaign will feature the very first head-coaching matchup between Kyle Shanahan and Robert Saleh. Entering his fourth season as Jets head coach, Saleh was Shanahan's first defensive coordinator in S.F., and Saleh took several of the 49ers' personnel members with him to New York back in 2020.

Currently, the 49ers are listed as a 6.5-point favorite versus Gang Green. In terms of the total, we see it listed at 45.5 points.

Per the Super Bowl odds at FanDuel Sportsbook, San Francisco is listed among next season's Super Bowl favorites, with the Niners at +550 odds to win the Super Bowl. The Jets come in at 27-to-1 to win it all. In terms of divisional odds, the Jets are at +270 odds to win the AFC East while the 49ers are the NFL's second-biggest division favorite, listed at +195 odds to win the NFC West.
