TCU vs. Utah State+1300
James Madison vs. Wisconsin+2300
Texas A&M vs. Nebraska+2300

Charleston vs. Alabama (+105)

Of the games on Friday, the upcoming showdown between the Charleston Cougars and Alabama Crimson Tide has a massive 173.5 total, which is by far the largest over/under of the second day of the tourney.

The second-highest total of the second day of the Round of 64 is sitting at 159.5.

The Cougars are 53rd in adjusted offensive efficiency (113.3) and adjusted tempo (70.0) while the Crimson Tide are fourth in adjusted offensive efficiency (125.2) and 13th in adjusted tempo, via Bart Torvik's stats. While Alabama leads all of college basketball in points per game (90.8), Charleston also produces the 34th-most points per game (80.5).

Plenty of points will be scored between two teams that are 82nd or better in effective field-goal percentage and 18th or better in offensive three-point rate. It also helps that neither of these teams are elite on the defensive end of the court, indicated by them being 121st or worse in adjusted defensive efficiency.

When looking at the Crimson Tide, they have been involved in a game with 180-plus points scored in six of their last seven contests. Among the 16 games scheduled on Friday, it's easy to see why Charleston-Alabama has the shortest odds to be the highest-scoring game by a fairly wide margin.

Western Kentucky vs. Marquette (+550)

Pace, pace, and more pace is the name of the game for the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers ahead of their clash against the Marquette Golden Eagles in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. Western Kentucky leads the nation in adjusted tempo (75.1) while registering the 31st-most points per game (80.6).

While the Hilltoppers are a fast-paced squad, the Golden Eagles are an efficient team that plays at the 86th-highest adjusted tempo (69.1). Marquette is 22nd in effective field-goal percentage (55.1%) and 16th in two-point percentage (56.0%) while posting the 27th-best offensive turnover rate (14.3%).

On a positive note, the Golden Eagles are expected to have Tyler Kolek (15.0 PPG, 7.6 APG) and Oso Ighodaro (14.0 PPG, 6.9 RPG) available on Friday despite both of them suffering injuries in recent weeks.

Western Kentucky is 173rd in free-throw rate (32.9%) and Marquette is 344th in free-throw rate (25.6%), so this game shouldn't be slowed down by players going to the line often. With Bart Torvik projecting there to be 161 total points scored in a game with a 158.5 total between the Hilltoppers and Golden Eagles, this is shaping up to be a potentially high-scoring affair.

TCU vs. Utah State (+1300)

For the games with +1000 odds or longer to be the highest-scoring contest on Friday, the one that stands out is the impending bout between the TCU Horned Frogs and the Utah State Aggies. The total is currently set at 150.5, and the over is holding -115 odds.

TCU and Utah State are solid offensive teams that are 44th or better in adjusted offensive efficiency. Additionally, the Horned Frogs are averaging the 50th-most points per game (79.2), and the Aggies are notching the 43rd-most points per game (79.8).

Aside from TCU being a formidable 107th in effective field-goal percentage (51.9%) and 54th in adjusted tempo (69.9), Utah State is 40th in effective field-goal percentage (54.1%) and 82nd in offensive turnover rate (15.7%).

The spread for TCU-Utah State is listed at 3.5 points in favor of the Horned Frogs, making it possible for a back-and-forth battle on Friday night. Assuming we get a competitive game that pits No. 8 and No. 9 seeds against each other, we could see a bevy of points put on the scoreboard.
