Orioles call up Connor Norby for MLB debut Monday

Norby will make his Majors debut on Monday, covering second base and batting ninth for the Orioles while Jorge Mateo (head) sits the game out. The young infielder had a strong 2023 at the Triple-A level, mashing 21 homers with a .842 OPS across 635 plate appearances that season. He had been continuing his strong production this year, with another 9 home runs and a .884 OPS through 238 plate appearances in 2024. He notably received the call-up over teammate Jackson Holliday, who has previously played with the Orioles' big league squad already this season.
