Jags vs Ravens Best Bets at a Glance

  • Parker Washington 60+ Receiving Yards (-136)
  • Baltimore Ravens +9.5 (-102)

Week 9 of the NFL season kicks off Thursday night with an AFC matchup between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium.

Jacksonville enters Thursday Night Football with a 5-2 record and looks to strengthen its position atop the AFC South. Baltimore, meanwhile, is dealing with significant injuries at quarterback and will turn to an undrafted rookie under center.

With both teams facing important questions heading into Thursday's matchup, let's break down three of the best Jaguars vs. Ravens bets for Thursday Night Football.

Jaguars vs Ravens Picks, Predictions for Thursday Night Football

Parker Washington 60+ Receiving Yards (-136)

Parker Washington - Alt Receiving Yds

Parker Washington has been a significant contributor in the Jacksonville Jaguars’ passing attack, and Thursday's matchup against the Baltimore Ravens offers an excellent opportunity for another productive performance.

Through seven games this season, Washington has recorded 27 receptions for 432 yards and four touchdowns. He's averaging 16.0 yards per reception and has commanded a 24% target share while playing approximately 75% of Jacksonville's offensive snaps.

The third-year receiver has cleared 60 receiving yards in four of his seven appearances, including performances of 124 yards against Philadelphia and 64 yards against Houston. Washington also recorded nine targets against the Eagles and 11 against the Texans, demonstrating his ability to command significant volume.

The matchup is particularly enticing. Baltimore has surrendered 177.6 receiving yards per game to wide receivers, the fifth-most in the NFL. The Ravens have also allowed 12.8 receptions per game to the position, the sixth-most in the league.

Washington managed just 16 yards on two targets in Jacksonville's blowout win over Indianapolis last week, but the TNF matchup against Baltimore should provide a better opportunity for receiving production.

Well, this won’t be comfortable.

The Ravens enter Thursday night as substantial home underdogs, largely because of their injury situation at quarterback. However, getting more than a touchdown with Baltimore could present some value.

Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley are out, so Baltimore will turn to undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano. Fagnano completed 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards and an interception against the Bills in relief duty. The UDFA is making his first career start on a short week versus a good team, so, yeah, this is a really tough spot.

Still, the 9.5-point spread accounts for much of that uncertainty.

While Jacksonville is undoubtedly the more complete team — ranking among the NFL's top five in both offensive and defensive EPA per play — Baltimore still has enough talent defensively to keep this game competitive, particularly if it can limit explosive passing plays and force Jacksonville into longer drives.

The Ravens have struggled against the spread this season, posting a 2-6 ATS record, but a 9.5-point cushion provides some protection in a matchup with a game total of just 40.5 points. Baltimore can remain within the number without generating much offense, especially if its defense can force a turnover or two.

With the Ravens playing at home and Jacksonville potentially leaning on its ground game while protecting a lead, there's a path for Baltimore to keep the final margin within single digits.

Derrick Henry Under 69.5 Rushing Yards (-114)

Baltimore will likely lean heavily on Derrick Henry with its quarterback situation in flux, but this matchup presents a significant challenge for the veteran running back.

Henry is averaging 79.0 rushing yards per game through eight appearances this season, although he's exceeded 69.5 yards in just four of those contests.

The Jaguars have been outstanding against opposing running backs, allowing just 57.7 rushing yards per game to the position, the fewest in the NFL. Jacksonville's defense also ranks among the league's top five in EPA allowed per play, highlighting how difficult it has been for opponents to generate consistent offense versus the Jags.

Henry could see a substantial workload with Fagnano making his first career start, but Jacksonville will undoubtedly prioritize stopping the run and forcing the Ravens’ inexperienced quarterback to beat its defense.

A negative game script could also work against Henry's rushing volume. If the Jaguars build an early lead, Baltimore may be forced to throw more frequently than it would prefer, limiting Henry's rushing opportunities in the second half.

Even with Henry likely to get fed as long as the game is competitive, Jacksonville's stout run defense makes this a difficult matchup for Henry to produce 70 or more rushing yards.
