FanDuel Single-Game Daily Fantasy Football Helper: Week 11 Monday Night (Eagles at Chiefs)

Monday night's game is a highly-anticipated rematch of last season's Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs are 2.5-point home favorites over the Philadelphia Eagles, and the over/under is 45.5 points, per the NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.

For those unfamiliar, single-game slates feature five flex spots with identical scoring to the main slate. However, kickers are included in these contests, and there is an "MVP" roster slot. The MVP receives 1.5 times his total fantasy points, making this spot crucial.

FanDuel Research's Brandon Gdula has done a deep dive on single-game strategy, and numberFire has projections if you select the game from the slate tab. It's worth checking out both before making your lineups.

MVP Candidates

Based on name value alone, both quarterbacks ought to be popular MVPs, but it certainly wouldn't be shocking to see one emerge with the slate-best score.

Jalen Hurts ($16,500) is the QB1 in FanDuel points per game and has scored over 20 points in every game from Week 2 onward. Hurts is tied for the league lead in rushing touchdowns at the position (7) and is averaging 9.8 carries and 35.1 rushing yards per game. He's also thrown at least one touchdown in every game thus far. Even against a tough KC defense, Hurts' MVP credentials are pretty obvious.

Patrick Mahomes ($17,000) has been a bit more up and down, coming in as "just" the QB6 in FanDuel points per game. After going nuclear for 34.86 points in Week 7, he's scored just 7.6 and 15.8 FanDuel points over his last two games. Facing a defense that's given up the fewest fantasy points per game to running backs but the fourth-most to quarterbacks, this could be a nice bounce-back spot for a ceiling game.

Top pass-catchers A.J. Brown ($15,000) and Travis Kelce ($14,000) are the appealing options when pivoting away from the signal-callers at MVP.

Far and away Hurts' favorite target this year, Brown has an absurd 32.2% target share, 48.5% air yards share, 33.3% red zone share, and 46.7% end zone share. Kansas City has the third-best schedule-adjusted pass defense, per numberFire, but that elite usage is fully capable of overcoming the matchup. Brown is the WR3 in fantasy points per game.

Kelce remains atop the tight end ranks and comes in with a 25.0% target share, 25.3% air yards share, 26.1% red zone share, and 28.6% end zone share. While his slice of the pie isn't as massive as Brown's, Philadelphia ranks 31st in adjusted fantasy points allowed per target to TEs.

Eagles running back D'Andre Swift ($13,000) also deserves a look in the multiplier slot. Dating back to Week 2, he's averaged 96.4 scrimmage yards off 16.5 carries and 4.1 targets per game with a 63.8% snap rate. The Chiefs are just 26th in adjusted rush defense, too. Arguably Swift's biggest hurdle to a ceiling game is the infamous "Brotherly Shove/Tush Push" that Philadelphia executes so flawlessly with Hurts near the goal line.

Flex Breakdown

Sticking with the Eagles, DeVonta Smith ($12,000) has an outside shot at leading the slate in scoring as a fringe MVP choice, but he's taken a clear backseat to teammate A.J. Brown. Still, Smith has logged a solid 21.2% target share, 30.8% air yards share, and 26.7% end zone share.

Backup running back Kenneth Gainwell ($8,500) is a potential value option, but we probably can't count on double-digit opportunities. Over the last six games, Gainwell has averaged a mere 4.3 carries and 2.0 targets per game. During this stretch, he's still seen 24.0% of the rushes in the red zone, though, keeping him on the radar as a touchdown-or-bust play.

In three games together, Olamide Zaccheaus ($7,500) and Julio Jones ($7,000) have split time as the Eagles' third wideout. It has amounted to little fantasy relevance for both, but the absence of tight end Dallas Goedert could lead to more targets. Zaccheaus has had the edge in snap rate (48.1% to 25.9%) and route rate (58.0% to 30.0%).

While Goedert's injury also means Jack Stoll ($5,500) and Grant Calcaterra ($5,000) are likely to rotate in at tight end, it remains to be seen if that leads to fantasy relevance. Stoll has logged a 32.3% snap rate behind Goedert this season, but he's seen just three total targets.

On Kansas City, lead back Isiah Pacheco ($11,000) has a tough matchup that makes him a longshot MVP. His role keeps him interesting as a flex option, though, as he's averaged 13.8 carries and 3.1 targets per game, and he's the primary goal line back with a 56.8% red zone rush share.

Rashee Rice ($10,000) continues to be the best non-Kelce pass-catcher in this offense. That being said, despite leading all KC wide receivers with a 63.3% snap rate over the last three games, it's resulted in an underwhelming 12.4% target share and 8.2% air yards share. Maybe Rice's role gets a boost following a bye week, though.

Justin Watson ($8,000) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling ($8,500) are the others who are most likely to see targets in this unpredictable wide receiving rotation. Watson actually led the group with a 75.0% route rate in Week 9. MVS has had the most consistent playing time all season (68.5% route rate), but it's amounted to just a 7.4% target share.

Tight end Noah Gray ($5,500) plays over half the snaps and actually has the same target share as MVS. At this salary, that at least puts him in the conversation.

While Skyy Moore ($7,500), Kadarius Toney ($8,000), and Mecole Hardman ($7,000) can't be ruled out entirely, they're bordering on irrelevance. None of them recorded a snap rate above 24% in Week 9.

Pass-catching back Jerick McKinnon ($6,500) is averaging 1.3 carries and 3.1 targets per game. That isn't very exciting, but he could see more work in a negative game script, and he does have three receiving scores this season.

This is probably a neutral spot to roster a kicker, but given the uncertainty surrounding most of the value plays, rolling with Harrison Butker ($9,500) or Jake Elliott ($9,500) isn't a bad way to go. Rain and wind are expected tonight, though, so it might not be the most ideal kicking conditions.
