FanDuel Daily Fantasy Football Helper: Week 14 Monday Night (Packers at Giants)

One half of tonight's Monday twin-bill is the New York Giants hosting the Green Bay Packers. Per the NFL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook, the Packers are 6.0-point road favorites in a game with a 37.0-point total.

For those unfamiliar, single-game slates feature five flex spots with identical scoring to the main slate. However, kickers are included in these contests, and there is an "MVP" roster slot. The MVP receives 1.5 times his total fantasy points, making this spot crucial.

FanDuel Research's Brandon Gdula has done a deep dive on single-game strategy, and numberFire has projections if you select the game from the slate tab. It's worth checking out both before making your lineups.

MVP Candidates

Jordan Love ($16,000) profiles as the best MVP option and will likely be the most popular multiplier as the masses usually flock to quarterbacks for their MVP pick. It makes perfect sense, too, because Love has been good lately, generating 18.66, 20.88, 26.62 and 23.68 FanDuel points across his last four outings. He paces numberFire's projections at a clip of 15.8 FanDuel points.

While Love is a quality MVP pick, I'm more interested in Saquon Barkley ($16,500). Not only is Barkley a good bet for top-tier volume, but he has a sweet matchup against a Packers defense that's struggled versus the run, ranking as the fourth-worst run D, according to numberFire's schedule-adjusted metrics. Given what else the Giants have on offense, Big Blue could let Barkley eat, and his pass-game skills ensure he'll see touches no matter how the game plays out.

In the other backfield, A.J. Dillon ($14,000) needs to be on our radar with Aaron Jones likely out. Dillon has mostly underwhelmed in this situation in the past, but without Jones the last two weeks, he's seen touch counts of 19 and 17. That kind of volume can't be ignored, even if you think Dillon is #bad at football. Plus, the Giants have permitted the sixth-most FanDuel points per game to RBs, so Dillon has a lot going for him today.

Tommy DeVito ($13,500) is worth a look, too. In single-game DFS, whenever any QB is probably going to go overlooked at MVP, we should be interested. DeVito's ceiling isn't great. It doesn't need to be, though, in a game with a 37.0-point total. Plus, DeVito offers a little rushing juice, running for at least 12 yards in three of his five outings.

Flex Breakdown

It's hard to get too excited about any of the wideouts in this game. On the Green Bay side, the looks will be a little more concentrated with Christian Watson sidelined.

Romeo Doubs ($11,000), Jayden Reed ($10,000) and Dontayvion Wicks ($8,000) should all see plenty of snaps. Of the three, Doubs interests me the most. He's bested both Wicks and Reed in snaps in every game but two this season while also topping them in target share (18.7%) and air yards share (24.8%) for the campaign.

Jalin Hyatt ($7,500), Darius Slayton ($9,500) and Wan'Dale Robinson ($8,000) handle most of the receiver duties for New York. Hyatt (27.8% air yards share) and Slayton (24.7% air yards share) are big-play threats while Robinson leads the team in target share (16.8%) but does almost all his work close to the line of scrimmage (8.5% air yards share). I'll take shots on Slayton and Hyatt and hope to hit on a chunk play.

With Jones out for the Packers, Patrick Taylor ($7,500) is a viable value play. He's logged snap rates of 48% and 31% sans Jones the past two games, although he's garnered a mere seven total touches in that time.

The Green Bay D/ST ($9,000) is projecting extremely well, with numberFire forecasting the unit for an eye-popping 11.3 FanDuel points. They make sense as a stack with Dillon if you think the Packers play with a lead. DeVito lost two fumbles a week ago and has three picks over his five appearances.

Both kickers have some appeal, as well, especially if you see this bout going under the 37.0-point total. numberFire has Anders Carlson ($8,500) and Randy Bullock ($8,500) amassing 8.5 and 7.7 FanDuel points, respectively.
