Connor Bedard Props: Best Bets for the Blackhawks' Star Rookie

October has come to a close, and the 2023-24 NHL season is well under way.

One of the big storylines early on has been the start of the career of 2023 No. 1 pick Connor Bedard. The season has had its early ups and downs for the rookie, but the widely regarded generational talent is beginning to find his stride for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Best Bets for Connor Bedard

Over 31.5 Goals (-132)

Out of all the props that are up for Bedard, the one I like most is him to go over 31.5 goals -- a number that the Blackhawks' center could smash by season's end.

So far, Bedard has four goals through the first nine games of the season. He's shown that his highly-talked-up shot is legit, and that weapon can help him be a high-level goal scorer in the league. If he were to play all 82 games this season, Bedard is on track to finish with 36 goals.

Bedard is only going to get better as time goes on and he adjusts to the NHL game. Perhaps the best sign that the goal-scoring is going to keep coming is that he's getting his shots. Through nine games, the 18-year-old has 28 shots on goal and 58 overall shot attempts -- including blocked shots and shots that miss the net.

Even with opposing defenses locking in on Bedard, he's figuring out ways to get his shots. That's a big positive for the over on his goal prop.

The Blackhawks aren't limiting him, either. He's averaging 19:45 time on ice -- which is elite usage with his work on the first line and power play.

Chicago still struggles in terms of the talent that surrounds him, which is why I'm opting to take Bedard's goal prop instead of his points prop.

All signs point to Bedard living up to the billing and having a quality rookie campaign. With this over at -132, I think it is the best bet out of all the options we have in FanDuel Sportsbook's unique Bedard Specials market.
