College Basketball Betting Picks for Sunday 11/19/23: Back Wake Forest at Home

The college basketball season always provides a flurry of twists and turns that few saw coming -- especially when March Madness comes around. This can make college basketball one of the most challenging sports to bet on.

Fortunately, we have plenty of tools available that can aid our chances of taking the most favorable college basketball bets. Bart Torvik and KenPom are excellent sources that give insights into team-level efficiency, and Sports Reference provides a wide range of useful team stats, as well.

Let's check out FanDuel Sportsbook's college basketball odds and select some of the best bets of the day by utilizing the mentioned tools.

College Basketball Best Bets

Boise State Broncos at Clemson Tigers

Broncos +6.5 (-110)

Getting two full possessions with the Boise State Broncos here feels like a gift.

When looking at these two schools overall, KenPom doesn't separate them by much. Clemson is 50th in overall adjusted efficiency on that site, and Boise State (59th) isn't too far behind. Bart Torvik's gap is a bit wider, placing the Tigers in 36th and the Broncos in 62nd.

Still, even BT has this spread for today's game at 6.1 points. DRatings has it at 5.7, and numberFire's model is most optimistic for BSU of all. It's projecting them at 62.5% likely to cover and 45.3% likely to win outright.

That's even springing value to Broncos ML (+225) in this spot, but as these two tournament hopefuls match up, take the points.

Miami (FL) Hurricanes at Kansas State Wildcats

Under 155.5 (-110)

Miami is a fun, flashy offense behind star guard Wooga Poplar, but the overall total for this game might have elevated too high.

After all, this is the toughest test of the season for the Hurricanes' offense. Kansas State is 28th in adjusted defensive efficiency, per KenPom, and Miami (84th) isn't a total zero on that end, either. Plus, the Hurricanes' tempo (121st in Division 1 by KenPom) isn't a large outlier; if anything, it's the Wildcats (28th) that'll play quick.

This total dropped from 157.5 to 155.5 on Sunday morning, so I'd act quickly before the value dries up. DRatings is expecting just 152.6 total points in this one, Bart Torvik have 155.0 projected, and numberFire's model has the expected total at 151.2.

LSU Tigers at Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Wake Forest ML (-110)

These two teams are next-door neighbors in KenPom. Wake Forest ranks 69th, and LSU ranks 70th. In Bart Torvik, the Tigers (74th) actually outpace the Demon Deacs (79th) by a small margin. We'll still want to take the home team in this matchup.

Wake Forest went just 4-8 away from Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum last season, but they went 14-4 in their home arena. LSU didn't win a road game all of last season en route to their 14-19 finish. That's a huge edge in Wake's direction.

numberFire's model actually ranks Wake (78th) comfortably ahead of LSU (105th). On that verdict, it's expecting the Demon Deacons to win 67.4% of the time on their home floor today at pick 'em odds.

If you're looking for another bet, it also expects this game to fall Under 149.5 Points (-110) a whopping 64.7% of the time, too.
