3 NHL Player Prop Bets to Target on Tuesday 11/7/23
Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy baseball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.
Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some NHL player props bets that look appealing via the NHL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.
Please note that betting lines and numberFire's projections may change throughout the day after this article is published. Also, the weather may be an issue in some locations.
Clayton Keller To Score a Goal (+160)
With a 3.28 implied goal total, the Arizona Coyotes can get the offense going against the Seattle Kraken.
When it comes to finding players to score a goal, having a strong offensive role and high shot volume are must-haves. That is the starting point for me. I usually like to look for players who not only fit that description but also haven't scored in a few games.
That is what we have with Clayton Keller, who is on the first forward line and first power-play unit for the Coyotes. That's the best offensive role you can possibly have and it's led to Keller piling up 42 shots on goal, which leads the team by 14 shots.
Over his last five games, Keller has no goals despite firing 20 shots on goal.
He has a chance to change that luck tonight against the Kraken, who are allowing 2.36 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is 18th in the league. If we glance at their Expected Goals Allowed (xGA), they are sitting at 2.61.
While that's not a massive differential, the Kraken are due for a bit of regression and Keller should continue to fire the puck and look for a goal.
Cole Caufield To Score a Goal (+120)
The Montreal Canadiens are playing some good hockey right now and are set to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning, who are on the second night of a back-to-back.
The Lightning are off to a slower start this year and their once-vaunted defense is not one we need to shy away from. The Lightning are allowing 3.21 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the sixth-worst in the league.
So, if we want another high-volume shot-taker with a great offensive role, that brings us to Cole Caufield. Much like Keller above, Caufield is the primary shot-taker for the Canadiens and comes in with 20 shots on goal but no goals over his last four games.
With time on the first forward line and the first power-play unit, Caufield continues to be in a great spot to find the back of the net against a weak defense.
Kyle Connor Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (-115)
When it comes to shots on goal, Kyle Connor is among the best in the league.
Connor is averaging 4.1 shots on goal per game this season and has crossed this 3.5-shot prop in six of his 11 games. He's among the more reliable players in the league for shots on goal and that's exactly what we should be seeing tonight.
He's up against the St. Louis Blues, who come in allowing a 67.1 Corsi Against (Total Shot Attempts Allowed) per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the fifth-worst in the league.
When it comes to the Winnipeg Jets' offense they are on the opposite end of things with a 64.24 Corsi For (Total Shot Attempts Created) per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the eighth-best in the league.
The Blues give up a ton of shot attempts and the Jets like to take a ton of shot attempts. Many of those shot attempts come via Kyle Connor, making him a clear option tonight.
