Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy basketball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Using a wealth of statistical data, including numberFire's daily basketball projections, here are some NBA player prop bets that look appealing via the NBA odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

NBA Prop Bets

Jayson Tatum To Score 30+ Points (+130)

We've got a pair of NBA on TNT games tonight, with the first matchup coming between the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks.

This will be a pace-up game for Boston, as they rank 19th in pace, while Milwaukee plays at the fourth-quickest pace. The Celtics secured an overtime victory last night in Boston and will now have to play the second night of a back-to-back on the road. Boston's defensive prowess could be muted tonight, which should ensure a quick pace and grant us some high scorers on both sides.

Jayson Tatum has been unreal in 2024, averaging 35.8 points through four games. He has scored 30-plus points in six of his last eight games, so I want to be on his side in a game that offers us a slate-high 242.5 over/under and has Boston coming in as a rare underdog.

This season, Tatum is averaging 35.0 points on the second night of back-to-backs (four-game sample). And beyond this and his recent play, there are a few reasons why I like him to go off against Milwaukee, in particular.

Since the start of December, the Bucks have been allowing the fifth-most free-throw attempts (FTA) per game. Tatum has been granted at least 10-plus FTA in three of his last four games and has had multiple 13-plus FTA outings this season. Milwaukee surrenders the sixth-most points in the paint, which is where Tatum nets 34.7% of his points. Plus, the more Tatum prioritizes driving into the Bucks' weak paint, the more FTA he will be granted.

Tatum scores the second-most isolation points per game (behind only Luka Doncic), and the Bucks are allowing the seventh-most points per possession in isolation.

It's a friendly matchup for Tatum, and if we take into account that the Celtics are 4.5-point underdogs, it means we could see a big fourth-quarter bid from him in what has turned into a rivalry matchup between these squads. He went up against the Bucks twice last season and scored at least 40 points in each contest.

Donte DiVincenzo Over 17.5 Pts + Reb + Ast (-104)

Given his updated role with the New York Knicks, I think Donte DiVincenzo is undervalued tonight.

He's been in the starting lineup for New York in 19 games this season, averaging 19.2 combined points, rebounds, and assists (PRA) in that span.

The Knicks have played five games with their new starting lineup, which now features OG Anunoby alongside DiVincenzo and company. DiVincenzo has surpassed 17.5 PRA in all five of these games, and this includes a pair of blowout Knick victories (28- and 36-point wins) that held him to under 20 minutes.

Since the Knicks are favored by just 3.5 points against the Dallas Mavericks tonight, DiVincenzo should receive proper court time.

The Mavericks sacrifice the fifth-most points, second-most rebounds, and eighth-most assists to shooting guards per game. Add in that the Mavs cede the fifth-most three-point makes (3PM) to this position -- DiVincenzo nets 70.7% of his points from behind the arc -- and this matchup looks awesome.

Kevin Durant Over 27.5 Points (-104)

The second NBA on TNT game features a matchup between the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers.

These teams have already matched up three times this season, with Kevin Durant averaging 36.0 points per contest. While we can't expect KD to put up these monstrous numbers for a fourth time, especially since Bradley Beal is back in Phoenix's lineup, I do think we can rely on him to exceed 27.5 points tonight.

On the season, KD is averaging 29.6 points. In nine games alongside Beal, who has missed extended time due to injury, Durant is putting up 28.0 points per contest.

The Lakers are giving up the ninth-most points to power forwards. They also allow more 3PA than any other team in the NBA, and Durant is shooting the three-ball at a career-high 47.4% clip this season.

Durant leads the league in field-goal attempts (FGA) from the 10-14 foot range and the 15-19 foot range. He is the most dominant mid-range shooter in the league, and the Lakers are letting up the seventh-most mid-range FGA per game.

Based on this, it's not hard to figure out why Durant has managed to surpass 27.5 points in his last four games against the Lakers, dating back to last season. Add in the 1.0-point spread, which could see these teams, and namely Durant, trading shots in the fourth quarter, and I'm in on the over.

FanDuel Sportsbook is offering a No-Sweat Same Game Parlay for tonight's NBA on TNT games. Between the Celtics-Bucks and Lakers-Suns matchups, there are plenty of exciting players we can target for props, so I'd consider taking advantage of this promo.
