MLB Player Props

Juan Soto To Record An RBI (+130)

The New York Yankees' acquisition of Juan Soto has already exceeded the high expectations.

Soto owns a .319 BA (third-best in MLB) and has smashed 17 home runs (fifth) and 53 RBIs (tied for third) through 63 games, leaving him with +210 AL MVP odds, trailing only Aaron Judge (+180).

The former Padre has recorded at least one RBI in 44.4% of games while these +130 odds imply a 43.4% probability. Add in an intriguing matchup against Pablo Lopez of the Minnesota Twins, and I'll take the plus-money.

Lopez comes in with a 4.84 ERA but has great underlying numbers, including a 2.99 xERA, 3.10 xFIP, and 3.03 SIERA.

However, he's giving up a ton of power, as evidenced by a clip of 1.61 HR/9, which is the second-worst mark in MLB. Lopez has allowed lefties a .461 SLG, 41.3% fly-ball rate, and 1.75 HR/9.

Soto, meanwhile, has been scorching hot versus righties. He enters the night with a .318 BA, .619 SLG, .301 ISO, 195 wRC+, and 43.7% hard-hit rate.

Given that the Yankees tout a league-high .337 OBP against righties, it's easy to envision Soto knocking in a run tonight.

Rafael Devers To Record 2+ RBIs (+250)

A date with the Chicago White Sox means the Boston Red Sox have a 5.5 implied run total for tonight. Rafael Devers could be responsible for a pair of those runs.

Jake Woodford will be on the bump for Chicago. He's made one appearance for the White Sox this season, which resulted in 4 2/3 innings, 5 H, and 3 ER.

Last season, Woodford made 15 appearances and 8 starts for the St. Louis Cardinals. He was terrible in this span, owning a 6.23 ERA, 7.04 xERA, 5.28 xFIP, 5.35 SIERA, and eye-popping 2.08 HR/9.

Woodford has historically been undone by lefties. In his career, he's allowed a .301 BA, .477 SLG, and 1.37 HR/9 to this handedness through 78 2/3 innings.

Devers has been slamming the ball against righties. He sports a .307 BA, .677 SLG, 188 wRC+, 47.0% fly-ball rate, 43.0% hard-hit rate, and a monstrous .370 ISO (second to only Aaron Judge) versus right-handed pitchers.

He's recorded 5 RBIs in his last 11 at-bats and is in an advantageous spot batting cleanup for Boston.

Jake Cronenworth To Record 2+ Total Bases (+110)

Slade Cecconi will take the mound opposite the San Diego Padres tonight, so we could see the San Diego lineup come out to play.

Cecconi has made six starts for the Arizona Diamondbacks and has pitched a total of 37 innings this season. In this span, he's been stamped with a 5.59 ERA, 3.64 xERA, 4.90 xFIP, and 4.56 SIERA.

The second-year pitcher has surrendered a seismic 2.19 HR/9 and has let up at least one long ball in six of his seven appearances this campaign. Jake Cronenworth could be his next victim.

Cronenworth has been generating a .518 SLG, .238 ISO, and 148 wRC+ versus right-handed pitchers. He has hit 11 doubles (most on team), 3 triples (most), and 8 home runs (second-most) against this handedness.

Cecconi, meanwhile, has allowed lefties a .476 SLG, 52.8% fly-ball rate, and 1.91 HR/9 in his career. There should be plenty for Cronenworth to reap in this matchup.
