3 MLB Prop Bets to Target on Friday 6/21/24

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy baseball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing our projections -- which are powered by numberFire -- as a guide, here are some MLB player props bets that look appealing via the MLB odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Please note that betting lines and projections may change throughout the day after this article is published. Also, the weather may be an issue in some locations.

MLB Player Props

Tyler O'Neill to Record an RBI (+120)

Tyler O'Neill is hot at the plate and holds opportune spot to come through tonight against the Cincinnati Reds.

The Boston Red Sox enter tonight with a solid 4.50 implied total, per numberFire's heat map. Boston will face off with Reds' starter Andrew Abbott in the contest.

Abbott has a 3.42 ERA this season, but his underlying metrics show that offenses can take advantage in the right spots. He has an inflated 4.65 SIERA and tough 4.75 FIP. Abbott's 2.85 HR/9 and 1.20 WHIP set the Red Sox lineup up for a big night offensively -- bringing us to O'Neill.

The outfielder has been a consistent bright spot in Boston's lineup. He's hitting to the tune of a .378 wOBA with a team-leading 15 home runs. I'm looking him to Record an RBI (+120) tonight. While he only has 26 on the season, hitting third gives him as good chance to drive in runs with Jarren Duran and David Hamilton's speed ahead of him.

To take it one step further, O'Neill has destroyed lefties in every way. He's got a .345 average against southpaws with a .505 wOBA, .418 ISO, and 1.242 OPS.

Thare are insane numbers that I'm happy to lean on against Abbott and the Reds.

Carlos Correa to Record 2+ Total Bases (-105)

The Minnesota Twins take on the Oakland Athletics at the Coliseum tonight.

When looking for matchups to take advantage of in this game, it starts with the Twins lineup as they will oppose Joey Estes.

Estes hasn't had good numbers over his 34 2/3 innings pitched this season. He has a 5.97 ERA and 4.61 SIERA. The right-handed starting pitcher also has a 4.61 FIP, 1.56 HR/9, 34.3% hard-hit rate, and 53.7% fly-ball rate. Looking at the flyball rate alone, the Twins should have their way offensively.

I like Carlos Correa in this content, taking him to Record 2+ Total Bases (-105).

Correa has been on a tear at the dish in the month of June. He's hitting an elite .412 through 75 plate appearances with a .445 wOBA, .206 ISO, .440 OBP, 1.058 OPS, and 194 wRC+.

In 57 games, he has 23 extra-base hits with 13 doubles, 2 triples, and 8 home runs. Against a pitcher like Estes, the shortstop should be able to take advantage and add to his extra-base total.

Per a 1.058 OPS in June, Correa is white-hot at the plate right now, so have the confidence in him to shine in tonight's game.

Will Smith to Record 2+ Total Bases (-105)

It's never a good idea to pass up on Will Smith when he's facing a lefty pitcher. The split benefit for him is enormous, and that's exactly the situation we find ourselves in tonight.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will be playing against the Los Angeles Angels and their starter, Patrick Sandoval.

Sandoval has taken a step back this season as shown by his 5.24 ERA. Now, his 3.81 FIP and 0.93 HR/9 show seem better, but the struggles are still apparent with a 4.04 SIERA and 1.50 WHIP. He's giving up hits and baserunners in bulk entering a face-off with a brutal Dodgers lineup.

I like L.A.'s catcher to Record 2+ Total Bases (-105) thanks to his dominance against left-handed pitching. Smith is smashing the ball against them to post a .362 average, .471 wOBA, .333 ISO, 1.140 OPS, and 212 wRC+.

At this stage of the season, Smith's numbers hold to the point where he's going to deliver more often than not when he gets the chance against southpaws.

Dodgers' manager Dave Roberts has moved Smith into the two-spot when facing lefties, setting him up for plenty of opportunities to rack up the bases we're looking for tonight.
