Four of the top-10 defenses by average draft position (ADP) heading into the 2021 fantasy football season scored fewer than 5 fantasy points in Week 1.
More than just about any other position, fantasy production for defenses is all about matchups and situation. That's why so many fantasy managers opt to lean heavily on the waiver wire and "stream" the position by readily adding and dropping defenses every week to find a new starter.
If you're one of those managers, The Duel is here to help with our top fantasy football streaming defenses for Week 2.

3. Arizona Cardinals (vs MIN)
The Arizona Cardinals were the top scoring fantasy football defense in Week 1, thanks in part to an absurd 5.0-sack game from Chandler Jones. That pass-rush could make things very difficult for the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2, considering they gave up 3 sacks and a 32.1% pressure rate (sixth highest in the NFL) in Week 1. That came against a Cincinnati Bengals D that had ranked just 30th in pressure rate in 2020. It's safe to say that this Vikings offensive line has some issues in pass protection.
2. New Orleans Saints (at CAR)
I'm not going to say the New Orleans Saints defense is as absurdly dominant as their 38-3 win over the Green Bay Packers made them look, but it's certainly hard not to be excited about this unit, injury issues or not. The Carolina Panthers opened the season with a win, but dropping just 19 points against the New York Jets isn't exactly an exciting result. The Saints check in at No. 4 in our Week 2 fantasy football defense rankings, and they're a great starting option here.
1. Green Bay Packers (vs DET)
On the other side of that Saints/Packers game, it's not time to panic about the Pack just yet. This defense still largely resembles the one that posted double-digit fantasy points three times and racked up eight games with 3-plus sacks in 2020. And they draw one of the best matchups you could ask for in Week 2, taking on the Detroit Lions. The Lions' offense came alive down the stretch in Week 1, but it's hard to rely on a Jared Goff-led passing attack that may be forced to feature Amon-Ra St. Brown, Quintez Cephus and Kalif Raymond as their top three wide receivers with Tyrell Williams in the concussion protocol. The Packers are massive 11.5-point favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook, and the blowout potential here means big upside for sacks and turnovers.
