Draft picks are arguably the most valuable currency in the NFL, especially first-round draft picks. So when a team is able to grab an extra one through a trade, it could be a big deal, and conversely, if a team goes a year or two without one, it has the potential to really hurt the franchise down the line.

So when you take a look at the NFC West Division and realize that the Arizona Cardinals are the only team with a first-round pick next season, fans have to be pumped about that. Already with an exciting offense headlined by quarterback Kyler Murray and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, things are on the way up in Phoenix.

However, this is one of the more competitive divisions in football, with the Rams, Seahawks and 49ers all looking like they could have good seasons in 2021.

While those team's cores are older than Arizona's, this could point to the Cardinals having a chance to take control of the division in the near future, with every other team not able to bring in a young first-round talent in 2022.

Other teams might be able to trade for one, but any deal that would acquire a first-round pick, would also mean some real talent is on its way out the door.

Nothing is ever guaranteed in the NFL Draft, but it's clear heading into next year's draft the Cardinals have a clear leg up on the rest of the division.
