The Washington Football Team fought hard, but ended up falling to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round on Saturday night by a score of 31-23. NFL fans across the country made sure to give credit where credit is due, and that includes former Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III.

Griffin took to Twitter following the game to praise Washington on a hard fought year. The current Baltimore Raven spent his first three seasons in the NFL with Washington and helped them win an NFC East title during his rookie campaign in 2015.

Overall, Griffin finished 14-21 as a starting quarterback for Washington. However, he never seemed to fully recover after he tore his ACL, LCL and meniscus in the team's Wild Card loss in 2015. He has since bounced around the league before settling in his current role as the backup quarterback for the Ravens.

It's always great to see professional athletes weigh in at times you almost don't expect them to. Griffin wanted to make sure Washington players and fans knew what a special season they had just gone through and how they should ultimately be proud of the final outcome.
