The LSU Tigers lost some heavy hitters to the 2020 NFL Draft, and there's really no way to sugar coat it. LSU accounted for five first-round picks in last week's draft alone, and three of those five talents came from the offensive side of the ball. Overall, LSU also finished tied for an NCAA-record 14 total NFL Draft selections from the same school.

Of course, this comes with the territory when you're a defending national champion that's been recruiting and fielding some of the nation's top talent as an SEC West competitor for more than a decade. But that's not to say we've seen the last of an LSU offense that powered the Tigers to a dominant perfect season in 2019, though.

LSU Football Key Losses on Offense From 2019

  • Joe Brady, (Passing Game Coordinator & WRs Coach)
  • Joe Burrow, QB
  • Justin Jefferson, WR
  • Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB
  • Damien Lewis, G
  • Lloyd Cushenberry, C
  • Saahdiq Charles, OT
  • Thaddeus Moss, TE

LSU Football Depth Chart 2020 Projections

RB: Tyrion Davis-Prince (Sophomore) / Chris Curry (Sophomore)
FB: Tory Carter (Senior)
WR1:
Ja'Marr Chase (Junior)
WR2: Terrace Marshall Jr. (Junior)

TE: Jamal Pettigrew (Senior) / Arik Gilbert (Freshman)

LG: Ed Ingram (Junior)

The Tigers are poised to contend for the SEC West title once again in 2020, however, it's going to be a tall order to replicate the kind of product LSU put on the field last season.
