We're only a week into the MLB season, but with only 60 games on-tap in the regular season, the results we've seen so far are far more important than they would be most seasons.

That's not great news for the Philadelphia Phillies, who have struggled to a 1-2 start against the lowly Miami Marlins.

The Phillies opened the season ranking top-10 in the MLB as World Series contenders, with +2500 odds before Opening Day on FanDuel Sportsbook. Now, they've fallen to a tie for 13th at +3300.

Heading into the season, the Marlins were projected to finish dead-last in the NL East, with between 24 and 27 wins depending on who you listened to. They were also tied for 24th in odds to win the World Series, at +50000.

Dropping two games and getting out-scored, 17-15, in a three-game series against Miami, the Phillies are going to need to turn things around very quickly if they want any hopes of reclaiming their pre-season status as a contender in the NL.

Their next chance to prove themselves will come on Saturday, with a double-header kicking off their series against the Toronto Blue Jays. If they can't put together a winning record against the Jays, it could be time to hit the panic button in Philadelphia.
