Green Bay Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard did not practice Wednesday or Thursday after he was “stepped on” last week, head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters.

Lazard is reportedly dealing with an ankle injury, although the exact severity remains unclear. The Pro Football Docs are not optimistic about his chances for playing effectively Sunday against the Vikings.

Lazard did not practice Monday and will have to log a limited practice Friday to have a chance at suiting up.

Outside of Lazard, the Packers may have trouble protecting star quarterback Aaron Rodgers because of lingering injuries at both tackle positions.

Offensive Line Injuries

David Bakhtiari told reporters he's on track to play Week 1, but the Pro Football Docs have detailed concerns about his left knee since the offseason.

The three-time Pro Bowl left tackle played in just one game last season and was inactive in the Packers' sole playoff game.

Before his ACL tear in December 2020, Bakhtiari posted a Pro Football Focus grade of 91.8 overall and a pass blocking grade of 91.6.

Since then, he's undergone multiple surgeries on his left knee and will likely struggle to return to that previous form.

At right tackle, Elgton Jenkins is making his way back from a late November left knee ACL tear.

He also appears on track to start Week 1, but the Pro Football Docs have doubts about his early season effectiveness given that it's his inside leg.

Packers vs. Vikings Week 1 Odds

The Packers are 1.5-point favorites in Minnesota this Sunday, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Green Bay has the fifth-best odds for Super Bowl LVII at +1200.
