Green Bay Packers superstar cornerback Jaire Alexander suffered a concussion in Week 9 against the San Francisco 49ers. That game was played on a Thursday, so there was some optimism that he could get cleared in time to suit up in Week 10.

However, after missing the team's Thursday practice, that does not appear to be likely at this point. It seems as if Green Bay will have to make due without its top corner against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10.

To be fair, this could be precautionary. Obviously, concussions are not to be taken lightly, so Green Bay could just be playing it safe with its franchise CB. Plus, the Packers don't exactly need to be at full strength to get by the Jaguars.

Still, though, this is not the update Packers fans were looking for.

Alexander still has a shot to suit up this week, but he has to clear the league's concussion protocol first, and time is running out. Hopefully he can get right for Week 11, when his Packers take on the Indianapolis Colts.
