Victor Robles appears to have dodged a nightmare. The Washington Nationals outfielder was hit by a pitch during Sunday's game, and he was ultimately pulled for Gerardo Parra despite trying to play through it.

Thankfully, the X-rays have come back negative, meaning Robles is only dealing with a bruise.

Robles should be considered day-to-day at this point, and it's very possible (if not likely) that he'll miss Monday's game. But he shouldn't be out for too much longer after that.

The outfielder has been solid this year, slashing .224/.340/.306 with 8 RBIs and 1 double. Those obviously aren't All-Star numbers, but Washington is 5.0 games behind the first-place New York Mets in the NL East. The Nationals aren't in a position to be losing starters right now.

Washington currently boasts the fourth-best odds (+1100) to win the NL East, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, despite the fact that it sits in second place.
