Kenny Golladay's Injury Update Hurts Week 2 Fantasy Outlook

After missing the first game of the season, it looks like Kenny Golladay's status for Week 2 is still up in the air. The Detroit Lions' wide receiver continues to deal with a hamstring injury that has caused him to miss practice this entire week.

Not having Golladay available would be a huge blow to a Lions team facing a critical divisional showdown against the Green Bay Packers this week as they try to avoid falling to 0-2 on the season.

The Lions lost to the Packers twice last season by an average of just two points and Golladay's play was a big reason why. He combined for 193 receiving yards on 8 catches in those two games. Overall, Golladay had 1,190 yards last year and scored 11 touchdowns as the team's clear-cut No. 1 receiver.

Golladay missed five games during his rookie season with a strained hamstring. Even if he suits up on Sunday, it doesn't seem like Golladay will be 100 percent healthy, making him a risky play in all fantasy football formats.

His absence would again create a small uptick in targets for receivers Marvin Jones and Danny Amendola, but it would also draw the second straight start for rookie Quintez Cephus. Cephus had a team-high 10 targets against the Bears last week, but only caught 3 passes for 43 yards.

Golladay checks in as the No. 10 wide receiver in our Week 2 fantasy football rankings, but it is important to keep an eye on his injury status all the way up until game time on Sunday.
