The Detroit Lions number one receiver, Kenny Golladay, injured his hamstring in practice just before the start of the 2020 season. This has already caused Golladay to miss Week 1, but word recently came in yesterday afternoon that the Lions star has been declared out for Week 2 as well.
Kenny Golladay Injury Update
His absence will be sorely missed against the defending NFC North Champion Green Bay Packers, who put up 43 points against the Minnesota Vikings defense in Week 1. Especially since the Lions are trying to avoid an 0-2 start after totally blowing a Week 1 23-6 lead over the Chicago Bears as they entered the fourth quarter.
Golladay had 65 receptions for 1,190 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2019, that's a lot to account for. He also had eight catches for 193 yards against the Packers in two games last year, which would be extremely helpful as the Detroit defense is banged up heading into Sunday's showdown.
Marvin Jones Jr. Fantasy Value
With Golladay officially out, look for Marvin Jones Jr. to get Jaire Alexander in the cornerback-wide receiver main event, while Danny Amendola, Quintez Cephus and tight end T.J. Hockenson could benefit from the wide receiver being out (as they did in Week 1).
This loss could also affect quarterback Matthew Stafford's Week 2 value, although it may not end up factoring if this game becomes a shootout between two poor defenses..
