Kenny Golladay Injury Update Clouds Week 1 Fantasy Outlook

Kenny Golladay looks poised for a big 2020 season with Matthew Stafford back under center for the Detroit Lions.
Golladay got banged up in Week 1's Wednesday practice, however, and that hamstring injury had him limited on Thursday as well. This makes him a risky fantasy play in Week 1 against the Chicago Bears.
Uh-oh. Lions WR Kenny Golladay was not doing anything in individual drills today because of his hamstring injury https://t.co/VodDGrUBRP via @freep

The Bears' defense tends to be a rough fantasy football matchup at the best of times. They finished 11th in Football Outsiders' pass defense DVOA metric in 2019, holding opposing wideouts to bottom-five fantasy production.
Golladay had a huge day against the Bears in Week 13 last season (4 receptions for 158 yards and 1 touchdown), but he was held to just 3 receptions on 9 targets in their first meeting.
If Golladay plays, he's still going to be tough to bench. That big game in Week 13 came with David Blough at QB, and having Stafford back should really boost Golladay's upside.
Marvin Jones Fantasy Outlook
If Golladay is out, or is even just limited at all by the injury, Marvin Jones' fantasy outlook will see a huge increase.
Jones' upside is already high with Golladay healthy, and he actually averaged just 0.6 fewer targets per game than Golladay in nine games with Stafford at QB. Golladay being limited could make Jones the team's WR1.

Accounting for him playing and being mostly healthy, Golladay still checks in as a top-10 WR in our Week 1 fantasy football rankings. If Golladay sits out, Jones will elevate into the top-25 range.
