The Green Bay Packers are known for their prolific offense, led by MVP favorite Aaron Rodgers. Green Bay paced the entire league in points per game this season, and they'll likely depend on Rodgers and star wideout Davante Adams in the NFC Championship Game.
However, cornerback Jaire Alexander will likely play a huge role in Sunday's contest as he faces Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans for the second time this season.
Jaire Alexander vs Mike Evans Matchup
Alexander absolutely dominated his matchup with Evans in Week 6, when these two teams first met. The Packers CB shadowed Evans for almost 80% of his routes and allowed zero receptions while in coverage. The fact that Evans only earned one target while being contested by Alexander shows how much the corner shut down his ability to get open.
Evans has struggled against elite corners. New Orleans Saints CB Marshon Lattimore helped hold the Tampa Bay receiver to just 1 reception in last week's Divisional Round clash, although his lone catch was for a touchdown.
That being said, if Alexander can shut down Brady's go-to option again, that should pose serious problems for the Bucs' air attack. It'd take away a dependable weapon from Brady and put added pressure on him in less-than-ideal weather that favors the home team.
