The injuries to the San Francisco 49ers' wide receiver group have been one of the team's biggest storylines this offseason. Pretty much every wide receiver on the team has gotten banged up at some point this offseason, and that includes second-year breakout candidate Deebo Samuel.

While there was some optimism that Samuel could be ready for Week 1, it appears as if he'll be sidelined come Sunday.

Deebo Samuel Injury Update

Deebo not practicing Thursday makes it extremely unlikely that he plays on Sunday. However, this foot injury looked initially like it would sideline Deebo for a chunk of the year. The fact that he's already this close to suiting up is good for his season-long value.

It looks like Deebo has a real shot to play in Week 2.

Brandon Aiyuk Injury Update

San Francisco's first-round pick Brandon Aiyuk would be the biggest beneficiary if Deebo couldn't suit up. Unfortunately, Aiyuk is a game-time decision himself, though he does seem to have a better chance to play than Deebo. The 4pm start time makes it difficult to start Aiyuk, though, as we might not have an update on his status before the 1pm games kick off.

Kendrick Bourne is the only 49ers' wide receiver that's guaranteed to see volume in Week 1.

At the end of the day, there are just too many unknowns on the 49ers this week. Fantasy managers would be better off looking elsewhere in Week 1 and taking a wait-and-see approach with this receiving corps.
