After 16+ seasons with Jason Witten as the No. 1 tight end for the Dallas Cowboys, the team has been in search of a replacement for this legend. It looked like Blake Jarwin might be a potential answer as he signed a four-year extension ahead of the 2020 season.
But, the early returns on that experiment didn't last long after Jarwin tore his ACL in the first game of last season. He caught one ball for 12 yards prior to this injury and then remained on the injured list for the entirety of 2020.
Well, the Cowboys caught a break of good news heading into training camps as Jarwin is back, healthy and "ready to roll" this season.
Blake Jarwin Injury Update
Last year was admittedly a disappointment for Dallas with the team going 6-10 and missing the playoffs for the second straight year. The Cowboys managed to put together a top-10 passing offense even without their No. 1 TE and recorded 260.1 yards per game through the air.
A healthy Jarwin is a potentially big boost for Dallas' offense, which also welcomes back a healthy Dak Prescott and a more balanced attack with Ezekiel Elliott. In 2019, Jarwin caught 31 of 41 targets for 365 yards. He was a threat in the red zone as well, hauling in 3 touchdown receptions.
Currently, Dallas owns the sixth-best odds to win the NFC in 2021 (+1300), according to the latest NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
