Surprisingly, none of the many trades, reaches or steals in Round 1 of the 2021 NFL Draft were the biggest story of the night. That honor belongs to Aaron Rodgers, who reportedly wants out of Green Bay and does not want to return to the Packers in 2021, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Aaron Rodgers Trade Rumors
Reports then began to circulate that Rodgers even has a list of his preferred destinations. Per ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio, that list includes the San Francisco 49ers, Las Vegas Raiders and Denver Broncos.
Unsurprisingly, this news has significantly impacted Denver's odds to win Super Bowl LVI, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
Broncos Super Bowl Odds
Just a few days ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Broncos had +5500 odds to win the Super Bowl, tying them for the 23rd-best odds in the league. But now that there's even a slim possibility that Rodgers joins the team, Denver shot all the way up to +1700, giving the team the eighth-best odds in the NFL.
It's amazing what a top-five QB talent can do for a franchise. And if Rodgers is surrounded by Denver's elite defense and loaded skill-position group, this team would be a legit title contender from day one.
Many Broncos fans are likely licking their wounds after the organization passed on Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields. But this dramatic shift in the odds makes it look like the Broncos could be setting their sights a lot higher heading into the 2021 NFL season.
