Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy hockey on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some NHL player props bets that look appealing via the NHL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

NHL Prop Bets

Brock Boeser Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+110)

With only two games on tonight's NHL slate, let's dive into a pair of props for the games.

We'll start with the Vancouver Canucks hosting the Los Angeles Kings, where we shouldn't see a ton of goals, so a simple shot prop will suffice.

Brock Boeser sees time on the second forward line and the first power-play unit for the Canucks, which puts him in a primary offensive role. He's racked up 24 shots on goal over his last 10 games, and 7 shots on goal in two games against the Kings this season.

Boeser has been over this mark in six of his last 12 games, giving us a solid level of consistency with a nice bit of plus money. This game shouldn't feature a massive amount of scoring, but the shots attempts should be there for two solid offensive teams.

Jordan Binnington Over 29.5 Saves (-112)

Next up, a goalie saves prop from the other game.

I don't look toward saves props too often but with a limited slate of games, I'm searching for any value we can find. That brings me to over 29.5 saves for St. Louis Blues' goalie, Jordan Binnington.

Since the start of March, the Blues have allowed 68.55 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the most in the NHL. That translates to 33.67 Actual Shots Against per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the second-most in the league.

Over his last eight games in March, Binnington has been over this 29.5 prop five times. Tonight, that is what we should see again since the Vegas Golden Knights are generating 67.24 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the third-best in the league since the start of March.

I'm not sure who wins this game, but Vegas should be firing the puck early and often.
