Week 6 NFL Bold Predictions at a Glance
- Jordan Love Finishes as the Overall QB1
- Woody Marks Finishes as a Top-10 Running Back
- Josh Downs Finishes as a Top-20 Wide Receiver
Fantasy football would be a lot easier if everything played out exactly as expected.
Instead, every NFL week gives us breakout performances, disappointing stars, and unexpected game scripts that can swing fantasy matchups. Trying to identify a few of those outcomes ahead of time can give fantasy managers an edge -- or at least provide a reason to take a chance on a player with more upside than the consensus suggests.
With four teams on bye in Week 6, managers will have to dig a little deeper than usual when setting their lineups. Here are three bold fantasy football predictions for NFL Week 6.

NFL Bold Predictions for Fantasy Football: Week 6
Jordan Love Finishes as the Overall QB1
Jordan Love - Passing Yds
Jordan Love is coming off easily his best fantasy performance of the season, and I'm predicting an even bigger result against the Dallas Cowboys.
Love completed 25 of 31 passes for 367 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Green Bay Packers‘ Week 5 win over the Chicago Bears. He's also thrown exactly two touchdown passes in each of the Packers' first five games.
Now he gets one of the friendliest quarterback matchups on the schedule. Before Week 5, Dallas had surrendered averages of 242.5 passing yards, 2.3 passing touchdowns, and 23.4 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks, with every quarterback it faced reaching at least 20.4 fantasy points.
Love is coming off a 367-yard performance, the matchup is outstanding, and Dallas has enough offensive firepower to potentially force Green Bay to remain aggressive. The ceiling is there for Love to throw for 300-plus yards and three or four touchdowns, which could be enough to make him Week 6's QB1.
Woody Marks Finishes as a Top-10 Running Back
Woody Marks - Rushing + Receiving Yds
The matchup isn't ideal, but Woody Marks' opportunity could outweigh it in Week 6.
David Montgomery exited the Houston Texans‘ Week 5 victory over the Tennessee Titans with a groin injury and is considered week-to-week. After Montgomery went down, Marks played 56 of Houston's 66 offensive snaps and finished with season highs of 15 carries, 62 rushing yards, four receptions, and 85 scrimmage yards.
Those 19 touches were easily his largest workload of 2026. Through five games, Marks has accumulated 149 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns while adding 11 receptions for 54 yards.
The Jacksonville Jaguars represent a significant obstacle. The Jaguars have yet to allow an opposing running back to reach double-digit fantasy points solely through rushing production, and their front has consistently limited efficiency on the ground.
Still, volume is king at running back. Marks' four catches last week also provide an additional path to production if Houston struggles to run between the tackles.
With Montgomery expected to miss Week 6, Marks could approach 20 touches again. If he adds a touchdown to a workload like that, he has a realistic chance to overcome the difficult matchup and sneak into the top 10 at running back.
Josh Downs Finishes as a Top-20 Wide Receiver
Josh Downs hasn't delivered a huge fantasy outing yet this season, but there are reasons to believe he's due for one.
Downs has caught 20 of 34 targets for 249 yards through five games. He's yet to find the end zone despite seeing a solid 20.5% target share, four red-zone targets, and a team-high 26.8% first-read share entering Week 5.
He's also demonstrated that the volume ceiling is there. Downs hauled in seven passes for 72 yards in Week 2 before following that with five receptions for 77 yards in Week 3. Even last week, he managed 47 yards on only three receptions, highlighted by a 42-yard gain.
The matchup with the Tennessee Titans isn't nearly as easy as the Titans' winless record might suggest. Tennessee has allowed only 228.6 passing yards per game and has leaned heavily on zone coverage, which hasn't been the ideal coverage type for Downs so far this season.
That's what makes this a bold prediction.
Downs has 34 targets without a touchdown, so positive touchdown regression should eventually arrive if his involvement continues. I'm predicting it happens Sunday, with Downs finding the end zone for the first time in 2026 and combining that score with enough receptions and yardage to finish the week as a top-20 fantasy receiver.
Fantasy Football Bold Predictions FAQ
What is a bold prediction in fantasy football?
A bold prediction is an outcome that goes beyond the week's consensus expectations but still has a realistic path to happening. That could include a player significantly outperforming his ranking, an unexpected breakout game, or a highly ranked player struggling.
What factors go into weekly fantasy football bold predictions?
Matchups, injuries, projected workload, target volume, snap rate, recent performance, and changes to a player's role can all factor into weekly bold predictions.
Should bold predictions influence start/sit decisions?
They can provide another perspective, but they shouldn't be the only factor in a lineup decision. Fantasy managers should also consider player rankings, projected usage, matchup quality, and their available alternatives.
