Seahawks vs. Broncos Props: 3 Best NFL Player Prop Bets, Picks for TNF

Seahawks vs Broncos TNF Prop Bets at a Glance

  • Jaxon Smith-Njigba Over 91.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
  • Bo Nix Under 197.5 Passing Yards (-114)
  • Courtland Sutton Under 31.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

The Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos will get Week 6 started on Thursday Night Football, with both teams entering the matchup at 3-2.

Seattle is coming off a wild 32-29 loss to the San Francisco 49ers while Denver earned a 23-17 road win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The Broncos' offense generated only 224 total yards in that victory, setting up an intriguing matchup with a Seattle defense that has been especially difficult to throw against.

Player props give us another way to attack the matchup. Using the NFL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook as a guide, here are the best prop bets for this game.

Seahawks vs Broncos Player Props, Picks for Thursday Night Football

Jaxon Smith-Njigba Over 91.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

It's a lofty number, but Jaxon Smith-Njigba has consistently been clearing it.

JSN has produced 583 receiving yards through five games for the Seattle Seahawks, good for 116.6 per game. He's surpassed 91.5 yards four times, posting receiving totals of 122, 155, 128, 76 and 102 yards. He's commanded 50 targets over that span and has seven receiving touchdowns.

The matchup could be more favorable for him than the Denver Broncos‘ overall numbers suggest. The Broncos have allowed 202.2 passing yards per game, ninth-fewest in the NFL, but their secondary is banged up. Patrick Surtain II and safety Talanoa Hufanga were both listed as nonparticipants on Monday and Tuesday due to ankle injuries while Riley Moss was limited with a rib injury.

Smith-Njigba has his own injury situation to monitor after being listed as limited with an ankle issue to begin the week, so his final status is important. But assuming he's active without a significant limitation, his combination of volume and explosiveness makes the over appealing.

Bo Nix Under 197.5 Passing Yards (-114)

Bo Nix Under

Bo Nix has struggled to generate consistent production through the air this season, and this is one of the tougher matchups he could draw.

Nix has thrown for 942 yards through five games, an average of 188.4 per contest. His weekly passing totals have been 131, 288, 186, 214 and 123 yards, meaning he's stayed under 200.5 yards in three of his five outings. Last week was particularly quiet as Nix completed 16 of 27 passes for only 123 yards against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Seattle has allowed just 150.8 passing yards per game, the best mark in the NFL through five weeks. The Seahawks have also generated seven interceptions, tied for the league-leading figure.

Denver doesn't necessarily need to put the game entirely on Nix's arm, either. J.K. Dobbins is coming off an 18-carry outing, and Seattle has been considerably more vulnerable on the ground than through the air, with the ‘Hawks permitting 100.4 rushing yards per game.

With Nix below this number more often than not and Seattle presenting an imposing passing matchup, the under is my favorite Denver prop.

Courtland Sutton Under 31.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

Courtland Sutton Under

Following a similar train of thought to the Nix under, I also like the under on Courtland Sutton‘s receiving yards.

Sutton has been held to just 104 receiving yards through five games. His game-by-game totals are 11, 25, 46, 4 and 18 yards, putting him below 31.5 receiving yards in four of five contests. He's caught only 11 of his 25 targets and has averaged 20.8 receiving yards per game.

Things haven't improved lately. Sutton has combined for just 22 receiving yards over his past two outings, catching three passes on nine targets during that stretch. He salvaged last week's performance with a touchdown, but he finished with only two catches for 18 yards on three targets.

The aforementioned Seattle pass defense makes this a rough spot for a receiver who already hasn't been producing much yardage. Jaylen Waddle, Evan Engram and RJ Harvey also give Nix several alternative options in the passing game, which should make it harder for Sutton to see steady volume.

With this prop at a modest 31.5-yard line, there's always the possibility that one catch flips the prop, but Sutton's recent involvement and Seattle's defensive strength make the under the side I prefer.

For Seahawks-Broncos on Thursday Night Football, the strongest prop angles can come from Seattle's passing game and Denver's matchup against the Seahawks' pass defense. Jaxon Smith-Njigba's receiving production and Bo Nix's passing-yardage market are two areas worth examining closely.
