Luis Torrens, New York Mets Catcher, Day-to-Day Due to Lower-Body Injury

Luis Torrens has been dealing with a few injuries this season. Previously, he had a right forearm contusion in April. Now, with the lower-body issue, his participation in the next game against the Pittsburgh Pirates is uncertain.

This season, Torrens has played in 26 games, starting 20 of them. He has a batting average of .247 with 18 hits and 11 RBIs. Francisco Alvarez, who shares the catcher position, might see more time if Torrens is unable to play. The Mets will face the Pirates at Citi Field on May 12, 2025.
