MLB Prop Bets: MLB Props for Today

Ranger Suárez Over 15.5 Outs Recorded (-132)

Guardians vs. Red Sox, 6:46 p.m. ET

Ranger Suarez has settled into a nice groove entering Thursday's home matchup with the Cleveland Guardians, and I like him to work through at least 5.1 innings.

Suárez owns a 3.27 ERA, 3.11 FIP, and 1.20 WHIP across 143.1 innings this season, and he's been especially sharp lately. The lefty has completed at least 5.1 innings in each of his last four starts, including back-to-back seven-inning outings earlier this month. Over his three September starts, Suárez has pitched 19.2 innings while allowing only two earned runs.

Cleveland isn't an ideal strikeout matchup, but that's less important for an outs prop. It actually may help us if Cleveland’s bat-to-ball ability results in some quick outs. Suárez has been efficient enough to pitch deep when he's keeping traffic off the bases, and he's allowed only 13 hits across his last 19.2 frames. Even in his most recent start, when he issued five walks, he still recorded 17 outs against Tampa Bay.

With Suárez throwing well and routinely getting into the sixth inning lately, over 15.5 outs looks attainable.

Matt Olson to Record 2+ Hits/Runs/RBI (-135)

Reds vs. Braves, 7:16 p.m. ET

Matt Olson gets one of the more favorable individual matchups on Thursday's slate against Cincinnati Reds right-hander Brady Singer.

Olson enters the day hitting .254 with a .325 on-base percentage and .511 slugging percentage. He's been productive lately, too, recording multiple hits in three of his last five games. That includes a 2-for-4 night Wednesday in which he doubled, homered, scored a run, and drove in a run, giving him multiple ways to cash this H/R/RBI combo market.

Singer is the biggest reason to like the matchup. He carries a 5.67 ERA into today's start, and left-handed hitters have given him serious trouble. Singer has surrendered a .394 wOBA and 2.13 jacks per nine innings to lefties this season, so the overall matchup sets up perfectly for the left-handed Olson.

Since Olson can get to two combined hits, runs, and RBI without needing an extra-base hit, this market gives us several paths to a win in a very favorable matchup. The cherry on top is that Cincy’s bullpen has the third-worst expected ERA over the past 30 days (4.57).

Grayson Rodriguez Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-120)

Angels vs. Mariners, 9:41 p.m. ET

Thursday's matchup at the Seattle Mariners gives Grayson Rodriguez a solid opportunity to clear his modest strikeout prop.

Rodriguez has 83 strikeouts across 93.2 innings this season, which works out to just under 8.0 strikeouts per nine innings. He has reached five strikeouts in only one of his last four outings, but he did record seven Ks over six innings against the Yankees earlier this month and has recently been able to work deeper into games, including 6.2 innings in his most recent start. The lack of Ks might be tied to some bad luck as he’s got a quality 11.4% swinging-strike rate across his last 12 starts.

The matchup provides plenty of appeal. Seattle owns a 22.7% strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season, and that mark has climbed to 23.6% over the last 30 days. There's enough swing-and-miss in this lineup for Rodriguez to generate opportunities.

The park helps a lot, too, as T-Mobile Park is a great environment for pitchers.

All in all, this is my favorite strikeout prop of the night.
