MLB Prop Bets: MLB Props for Today

George Kirby Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-113)

Mariners vs. Red Sox, 6:46 p.m. ET

George Kirby - Strikeouts

George Kirby Over

George Kirby is having a weird — and mostly blah — second half of the season. But I think that’s caused the market to be a little low on him today, and Kirby to notch at least five punchouts is my favorite pitcher prop on Monday.

Over his past six starts, Kirby has struggled to a 5.68 ERA and 5.10 FIP. He’s fanned more than three in just one of those six outings. It hasn’t been good.

With that said, the one start with more than three Ks was his last one, a nine-strikeout gem, and before this poor stretch, he’d gone over 4.5 strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

For the season, Kirby owns a 3.97 SIERA and 11.0% swinging-strike rate. He’s very good, and while a road date with the Boston Red Sox is a difficult matchup, I think this is an appealing buy-low spot.

Isaac Paredes to Record 2+ Hits/Runs/RBI (-110)

White Sox at Astros, 8:11 p.m. ET

Player To Record 2+ Hits + Runs + RBIs
Isaac Paredes

In today’s home run picks article, I wrote up Christian Walker due to his date with lefty Anthony Kay. I’m going back to another Houston Astros right-handed hitter here.

Kay has pitched to a 4.46 SIERA with an 18.4% strikeout rate. He’s really struggled versus righties, permitting a .373 wOBA and 1.55 homers per nine in the split.

Paredes is having another quality season, producing a .344 expected wOBA with a career-high 47.3% fly-ball rate. He’s at his best at home, racking up a .366 wOBA in Houston, and he’s having a strong second half, posting a .353 wOBA since the break.

I’m bullish on the Astros’ offense tonight, and Paredes to notch two-plus H/R/RBI stands out among Houston’s player props.

Gunnar Henderson to Score a Run (-145)

Orioles vs. Rockies, 8:41 p.m. ET

To Record A Run
Gunnar Henderson

The Baltimore Orioles are at Coors tonight against RHP Tanner Gordon, and I like these odds on Gunnar Henderson to score a run.

Gordon hasn’t been bad this year, registering a 4.04 SIERA. However, he’s got just an 18.9% strikeout rate and is getting rocked at Coors, allowing a .429 wOBA in the split along with a 51.6% hard-hit rate.

Henderson has been better on the road (.323 wOBA) than at home (.303 wOBA), and he’s having a nice second half, generating a .333 wOBA in the split.

Henderson has scored six times over his last six games, and with the O’s at the best offensive park in the game tonight, I like his chances to touch home on Monday.

MLB Prop Bets -- Frequently Asked Questions

What are MLB player prop bets?

MLB player prop bets are wagers on specific statistical outcomes tied to individual players during a game — not on which team wins or loses. You might bet on how many strikeouts a starting pitcher records, whether a shortstop gets a hit, or how many total bases an outfielder accumulates.

Because they are isolated to a single player's performance, props let you apply focused knowledge about matchups, recent form, and ballpark conditions rather than predicting the full game result.

What types of MLB player props are available?

FanDuel offers a wide menu of MLB props. The most common categories include:

  • Pitcher strikeouts
  • Batter hits
  • Home runs
  • Total bases
  • RBIs
  • Stolen bases
  • Pitcher outs recorded

How do MLB player prop bet odds work?

MLB prop odds use the standard American (moneyline) format. A negative number shows how much you must wager to profit $100. A positive number shows how much a $100 bet returns in profit.

  • -110 odds — bet $110 to win $100
  • +130 odds — bet $100 to win $130
  • -200 odds — bet $200 to win $100

What does "total bases" mean as a prop bet?

The total bases prop counts the bases a batter earns from hits in a single game:

  • Single = 1 base
  • Double = 2 bases
  • Triple = 3 bases
  • Home run = 4 bases

Walks, hit-by-pitches, and stolen bases do not count. A typical total bases line is set at 1.5 or 2.5. Betting over 1.5 means you need at least a double, or two singles.
