Lakers vs. Blazers: NBA Prediction, Picks and Prop Bets (Oct. 27)

Lakers vs. Blazers Best Bets at a Glance
- Lakers -2.5 (-106)
- Austin Reaves Over 23.5 Points (-108)
Tuesday's NBA slate closes with an intriguing Western Conference showdown between the Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers.
Both teams enter the matchup undefeated, with Portland sitting at 2-0 and Los Angeles at 3-0. The Lakers have been one of the NBA's most explosive offensive teams through the opening week while the new-look Blazers have impressed on both ends of the floor.
Which bets stand out for tonight's matchup?
Here are my favorite Trail Blazers-Lakers bets for Tuesday night.

Lakers vs. Blazers Prediction, Picks and Props
Lakers -2.5 (-106)
Spread
The Los Angeles Lakers have opened the season 3-0, scoring 125, 125, and 132 points in those victories.
The Lakers' offense has been especially difficult to slow down with Luka Doncic directing the show. Doncic is averaging 34.3 points, 8.0 assists, and 7.3 rebounds through three games, and he exploded for 52 points in Sunday's comeback win over Utah.
The Portland Trail Blazers deserve credit for their 2-0 start, particularly considering they've held opponents to only 101.5 points per game. But this will easily be their toughest defensive assignment to date.
Portland's revamped roster has plenty of talent, but I'm not ready to put the Blazers on the same level as LA.
With the Lakers at home and the spread sitting at -2.5, I'll back Los Angeles to remain unbeaten and win by at least three.
Austin Reaves Over 23.5 Points (-108)
Austin Reaves - Points
Austin Reaves has picked up right where he left off last season.
Reaves is averaging 26.7 points per game through Los Angeles' first three contests. After scoring 23 points in the opener, he's gone for 28 and 29 points over his last two games.
His role also gives us plenty to like. Reaves has been playing massive minutes alongside Doncic, and he's been aggressive getting to the free-throw line. That combination should give him several avenues to clear a 23.5-point line even in a difficult matchup.
Portland's strong early defensive numbers deserve respect, but the Blazers will have to devote plenty of attention to slowing Doncic. That can create favorable opportunities for Reaves as a secondary scorer, particularly when Los Angeles forces Portland into rotations.
Reaves has already shown that he doesn't need an enormous shooting night to approach this number. Given his early-season scoring role and heavy workload, I'll back him to reach at least 24 points for the third straight game.
NBA Betting Frequently Asked Questions
What is the point spread in NBA betting?
The point spread is a handicap applied to the favored team to level the playing field. For example, if the Lakers are -6.5 against the Celtics, the Lakers must win by 7 or more points for a bet on them to pay out. A bet on the Celtics wins if Boston wins outright or loses by 6 points or fewer.
What does the moneyline mean in NBA betting?
A moneyline bet is a straight-up wager on which team wins — no spread involved. Odds use American format: a favorite is listed with a minus sign (e.g., -180), meaning a wager of $180 would win $100. An underdog carries a plus sign (e.g., +155), meaning a $100 bet would return $155 profit.
What is an over/under (total) bet in the NBA?
FanDuel will set a projected combined score for both teams. You bet whether the actual total points will go Over or Under that number. For example, if the total is 224.5, an Over bet wins if both teams combine for 225 or more points.
What are NBA player props?
Player prop bets focus on individual statistical performances rather than game outcomes. Common NBA props include points scored, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made, steals, and combined stat lines (e.g., Points + Rebounds + Assists). You bet whether the player goes Over or Under the sportsbook's posted line.
