- Under 228.5 (-110)

Friday’s NBA slate features an intriguing Atlantic Division matchup between the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers.
Both teams have shown flashes on both ends of the floor early in the season, setting up a competitive betting environment.
Here are our two best bets for today’s Knicks vs. 76ers clash, including one player prop.

Knicks vs. 76ers NBA Prediction, Picks and Props
Under 228.5 (-110)
Total Points
The first meeting between these teams finished with just 206 points in a 106-100 Philadelphia 76ers win, and I think this rematch can follow a similar script.
Philadelphia has been especially impressive defensively to begin the year. Through its first four games, the Sixers ranked fifth in defensive rating, allowing 102.4 points per 100 possessions. Their starting lineup was even better early on, surrendering only 56 points across 74 defensive possessions against the Knicks and Cavaliers.
The New York Knicks have produced more offense lately, including 133 points against Chicago in their most recent game, but this is a much tougher matchup for New York. Philadelphia held New York to 100 points in the opener, and the Knicks have also been held to 103 or fewer points in three of their first five games.
With both teams capable of making this a half-court game late, I prefer the under at 228.5.
Jalen Brunson Under 27.5 Points (-128)
Jalen Brunson - Points
Jalen Brunson enters Friday coming off a monster 38-point performance against Chicago, but this number creates a good opportunity to fade that result.
Brunson is averaging 25.8 points through five games and has topped 27.5 points only twice. His other three scoring outputs have been 21, 19 and 23 points, so the under has already hit in 60% of his games.
Philadelphia also gave him problems in the first meeting. Brunson scored just 21 points on 6-of-19 shooting while the Sixers held the Knicks to 100 points. Philly's early-season defense has been one of the league's better units, and its ability to load up on Brunson should force New York to get more offense from the rest of the lineup.
Brunson certainly has the shot volume to get to the over, but with the line sitting above his early-season scoring average and Philadelphia already showing it can slow him down, I like the under.

NBA Betting Frequently Asked Questions
What is the point spread in NBA betting?
The point spread is a handicap applied to the favored team to level the playing field. For example, if the Lakers are -6.5 against the Celtics, the Lakers must win by 7 or more points for a bet on them to pay out. A bet on the Celtics wins if Boston wins outright or loses by 6 points or fewer.
What does the moneyline mean in NBA betting?
A moneyline bet is a straight-up wager on which team wins — no spread involved. Odds use American format: a favorite is listed with a minus sign (e.g., -180), meaning a wager of $180 would win $100. An underdog carries a plus sign (e.g., +155), meaning a $100 bet would return $155 profit.
What is an over/under (total) bet in the NBA?
FanDuel will set a projected combined score for both teams. You bet whether the actual total points will go Over or Under that number. For example, if the total is 224.5, an Over bet wins if both teams combine for 225 or more points.
What are NBA player props?
Player prop bets focus on individual statistical performances rather than game outcomes. Common NBA props include points scored, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made, steals, and combined stat lines (e.g., Points + Rebounds + Assists). You bet whether the player goes Over or Under the sportsbook's posted line.
