MARACOURT (3) let rip with a powerful turn of foot when just missing at Oakbank first-up. Was flat second-up before turning in a much better performance last time at headquarters when again doing his best work late. Is yet to be tested at this trip but splits say he will handle it. TEST THE LAW (2) has returned in good order this prep and looks ready to put it all together fourth-up. Meets Van Roy 2.5kgs better this time after finishing hot on his heels two back and has been kept up to the mark with two sharp trials since his narrow third-up fourth. Ready. VAN ROY (5) is king of the Country Cups circuit and finds another suitable one to add to his mantle. Has already taken out a few heats of the Limestone Cup Series, most recently victor of the Penola Cup. Has the runs on the board, will just need a touch of luck from the draw.
