Verdict

ULTRA BLUE (1) saluted at Warrnambool two runs ago. Fair effort last time out when in contention on the bend before finishing third over 7f at Warrnambool, beaten 1.3 lengths. Finds the right race this time and can rediscover winning form. FREAK OF NATURE (5) will take a lot of confidence out of the last-start win and while he can be hit or miss at the start, he's got the ability to go on with things here. ALWAYS HAPI (2) will be much fitter for the two runs back and was far from disgraced behind a promising type last start. SHOOTER MCGAVIN (6) was quickly into stride and went on to score by half a length last time out over 6 ½f at Stawell. Finds a tougher race but this looks well within his grasp. EMERALD REWARD (4) has not won for a long while. Last raced on April 18 when beaten 7 lengths into 12th at Morphettville Parks over 7f. This doesn't look as hard so he can return to the winners' list.

Form hard to fault. Last start crossed from a wide gate to lead but couldn't hold on when 3rd of 16 at Warrnambool Bm70 on May 6 over 7f, on heavy track, 1.3 len behind Dantooine with 131lbs at $4.60. The start before that favourite, scored a big 5 len win at Warrnambool Bm62 March 26 over 7f on a rain affected track defeating Stay Silent carrying 131lbs at $4.60. Rates highly. Lovely race for a consistent type who is well in after the claim.
