Verdict

OFF THE PRESS (2) opened this prep with a couple of wins in Wagga then went close to the hat trick at Canterbury last start, beaten a neck after letting down with a big challenge late. Has to shoulder 60kgs here but this is a drop in class so another big run looks on the cards. Consistent mare ME ME (9) worked home well but was never a winning hope recently over 6f at Kembla. Drops 2kgs and is fitter for two runs back from a spell. Maps nicely from gate two so there is plenty to like about her chances. KYEEMA (4) is back from an 18-week spell. Best form last prep reads well although he is sure to improve on whatever he does in this. Lightly raced five-year-old STARBOARD (3) is back from a seven-month absence. Goes well when fresh and his recent trial form has been strong. EQUILIBRIST (1) will be better for this run but he is well placed in this company and can feature in the finish.
