Verdict

MISS DEFY (10) scored an impressive win over 1 ¼m at Canberra two runs ago. Stepped back in trip and was less effective last time when down the track at Wagga. Back in her right race today so expect a return to form. SPENZALOT (5) tackled a middle-distance trip for the first time last start and did a fine job to finish second over 1 5/16m at the Beaumont track, making up many lengths only to miss in a photo. Just needs to hold that form to play a major role in this easier race. The consistent FULMEN FILOU (4) raced handy then battled on well for second at Armidale recently in a BM58 over 1 ³/16m. Might need some luck from the wide gate but he is a genuine gelding who is sure to give a good account. AKAUWHEO (7) led for the judge but was swamped in the straight over 1 ?m at Gilgandra last time. Down in class and a bit less pressure over today's journey will help. EJECT (9) found the line well at Armidale last start and the extra trip today looks a plus.
