Verdict

OUR BOY TOM (1) looks the one in a very plain affair. Last raced 11 weeks ago when second of three over 6f at Tamworth, the only start of that prep. Won a recent Tamworth trial so he looks set for a bright return. PILLAGER (2) tackled a $50k maiden at Gilgandra last start and didn't do a bad job to be beaten 4.3 lengths after settling midfield. Has had plenty of chances but in a race that lacks depth the form from that last run should stand up. WOLFCRAIG (6) returned from a spell with a close second over 5 ¼f at Inverell on Boxing Day. Lightly raced and open to plenty of improvement. BOLD BENDER (7) has raced 32 times for eight placings. Recent efforts have been unremarkable but in a race of this standard she is a top three hope. WRITTEN LEGACY (12) was safely held first-up at Inverell but can improve out to this distance.

Last start 4th of 8 at Gilgandra Super Mdn on January 4 over 6f, 4.5 len behind Tropic carrying 123lbs at $11. The race before that made ground from midfield, 2nd of 9 at Gilgandra Mdn on December 27 over 6f, 2.5 len behind Snowball with 123lbs at $7. Going better than most of these so he gets his chance.
