4 MLB FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Tuesday 6/6/23

The best of the best will be players almost anyone aims for, but to get those high-salary studs, you have to find value elsewhere.

Looking at recent trends, matchups, and overall performances are some of the best ways to identify low-salary players who could have a big day.

Here are some low-salary options to target on FanDuel for tonight's main slate.

Tyler Anderson, P, Angels ($6,800)

Tyler Anderson hasn't been everything the Los Angeles Angels have wanted this season, but over his past five starts, he's been closer to as advertised.

The left-handed hurler is coming off a start where he allowed six earned runs to the Chicago White Sox, but in the four previous outings, he gave up two, three, three, and one earned runs. Now taking on a Chicago Cubs team that is fresh off being blanked by the San Diego Padres, Anderson has a good chance to get back to those numbers.

In their first four games in June, the Cubs own an ugly .250 weighted OBA (wOBA), which ranks fifth-worst. Admittedly, the Cubs have had a good track record against lefties this season -- .346 wOBA in the split, compared to a .313 wOBA against righties -- but it was lefty Blake Snell who dished out six innings of no-run baseball against them

Plus, despite their pop against southpaws, the Cubbies have the sixth-highest strikeout rate in the split (25.5%. That helps Anderson's cause all the more.

Anderson likely won't give you big strikeout numbers, but numberFire's model projects him as one of the night's best point-per-dollar options at pitcher, pegging him to score 25.0 fantasy points.

Tim Anderson, SS, White Sox ($2,700)

While he's no longer the elite option he once was, Tim Anderson offers tremendous value Tuesday night against the New York Yankees.

Over Anderson's last four games, he's finished with 12.2-plus fantasy points three times. The shortstop will swing against Yankees starter Clarke Schmidt. Schmidt has been better recently but has surrendered a 39.0% fly-ball rate to righties, setting up Anderson for a potential solid outing.

Anderson continues to hit leadoff for the White Sox, so he's in a great spot in the lineup, and he's a quality value play at this salary.

Emmanuel Rivera, 3B, Diamondbacks ($2,600)

The Arizona Diamondbacks are making sure Emmanuel Rivera is in the lineup moving forward -- and for good reason.

The third baseman has consistently been in the lineup over the past few games. There's no doubt that Rivera's numbers jump off the page as he's got a .337 average and a .453 slugging percentage. He's also recorded an impressive strikeout rate of just 11.2%, showing that he's getting the bat on the ball consistently, which has led to his success.

He can keep it going against Washington Nationals pitcher Jake Irvin.

Irvin has a lowly 5.80 fielding independent pitching (FIP) and is striking out opposing hitters at only a 17.7% rate. This is a matchup Rivera can take advantage of.

FanDuel projects Rivera to end the night with 10.7 points and ranks him as the eighth-best point-per-dollar bat.

Teoscar Hernandez, OF, Mariners ($2,600)

The final value for Tuesday is Seattle Mariners outfielder Teoscar Hernandez, who is starting to find his swing with his new team.

Hernandez hasn't found the long ball in Seattle, with his last home run coming back on May 24th, but his past three games have been a lot closer to what you'd expect from him. The outfielder has 5 hits in his last 12 at-bats, including a triple.

Padres starter Joe Musgrove has struggled against righties this season as they're posting a .383 wOBA against him. He's allowing 1.80 HR/9 and 3.00 BB/9 in the split.

Hernandez could get back to his long-ball ways in this matchup.
