Saturday’s Best College Football Picks and Predictions

Georgia -24.5 (-115)

Georgia at Arkansas, Noon ET

The Georgia Bulldogs have been overwhelmingly efficient through two games, averaging 66.5 points and 576.5 total yards per game while allowing just 11.5 points and 167 total yards per game. The Bulldogs have also averaged 253 rushing yards per contest, which gives them multiple ways to pressure an Arkansas Razorbacks defense that just allowed Utah to score 43 points.

Arkansas is coming off a 43-10 loss at Utah in which the Razorbacks managed just 360 total yards and 10 points.

Georgia, meanwhile, has scored at least 63 points in each of its first two games — although neither opponent was a P4 school.

The Bulldogs have a significant talent edge, and I think they’ll wear down Arkansas and pull away enough to cover the spread.

Alabama -19.5 (-112)

Florida State at Alabama, 3:30 p.m. ET

The Alabama Crimson Tide enter this matchup at 2-0 after beating Kentucky on the road 45-17 last week, with the Crimson Tide holding Kentucky to only 209 total yards. Alabama dominated the second half, outscoring the Wildcats 32-0 after halftime.

The Florida State Seminoles are 1-1 and coming off a 27-24 home loss to SMU. This week's opponent brings a substantially stronger defense than SMU did, and ‘Bama will also have the home-field advantage.

Led by its defense, Alabama should cause all sorts of problems for FSU, and I like the Tide to cover at this number.

LSU-Ole Miss Over 57.5 (-110)

LSU at Mississippi, 7:30 p.m. ET

This matchup has the ingredients for a high-scoring game, which is why the over/under is where it is. But I think the market may still be a little short.

The LSU Tigers have scored 51 and 45 points in their first two games, averaging 48.0 points per contest, while the Mississippi Rebels are averaging 41.0 points per game through two games. The Rebels have also produced 314.5 passing yards per game with Trinidad Chambliss completing 70.97% of his passes.

Ole Miss has already played one shootout this season, beating Louisville 41-38, and the Rebels have generated 454 total yards per game. LSU's offense has been just as explosive, so even though both teams have capable defenses, I like their offensive ceilings to push this game over 57.5.
