Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy football on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some NFL player props bets that look appealing.

Please note that betting lines and numberFire's game projections may change throughout the day after this article is published. Also, the weather may be an issue in some locations.

Michael Pittman Any Time Touchdown (+175)

The Indianapolis Colts have a 22.00 implied team total against the Tennessee Titans, a matchup that puts Michael Pittman in a spot to score.

As usual, I like to look for high-usage players who haven't scored in a while and that's what we have with Pittman this week. He has no touchdowns in his last three games, despite racking up 33 targets, 26 receptions, and 255 yards,

Pittman is the clear number one option in the Colts' passing offense and leads them with a 30.7% target share, 33.9% air yards share, 97.1% snap rate, 97.5% routes run on dropbacks, and most importantly, a massive 38.6% red zone target share.

That red zone target share is 16% higher than the next player on the Colts, which is why it's rather surprising to see him with so few touchdowns this season.

The Titans' defense is rather lackluster against wide receivers this season as they have allowed the ninth-most (1,935) receiving yards, and tied for the seventh-most (10) touchdowns allowed.

With his continued high red zone usage, Pittman is underproducing touchdowns this season but can get that going in the right direction with a good matchup this week.

Brock Purdy Over 254.5 Passing Yards (-114)

A potential playoff preview between the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles is a great spot to find some props.

Two of the best teams in the NFC are squaring off this week and it leads to a ton of options in the prop market. This game has a solid 47.5-point over/under and a very close 2.5-point spread in favor of the road 49ers, which should lead to plenty of back-and-forth action.

We'll turn to over 254.5 passing yards for Brock Purdy, who has looked great in recent games. Purdy has been over this 254.5 mark in four of his last five games, three of which he ended with 296 yards or more.

While the Eagles are known for having a strong defense, they are actually struggling this season by allowing 255.7 passing yards per game, which is the fourth-worst in the league. Opposing quarterbacks have gone over this 254.5 number in seven of the 11 games for the Eagles this season.

This game also has a bit of a narrative with it being a rematch of last year's NFC Championship game, where Purdy got hurt. I'm hoping he looks to air the ball out and prove he's among the best in the league.

Adam Thielen Over 5.5 Receptions (-125)

While the Carolina Panthers aren't a good team, Adam Thielen has been good for them this season.

I'm not expecting the Panthers to pile up the touchdowns this week, but Thielen piling up the receptions is something he's been doing on a regular basis this season.

Last week, Thielen had just a single reception from three targets. That is a pretty clear outlier compared to what he's done for nearly every single week this season.

Thielen has five receptions or more in nine of 11 games this season and seven or more in seven of those games. But wait, there's more. Thielen has a whopping 11 receptions three different times this season.

That is because he comes in with a team-high 27.0% target share and 29.0% air yards share. He does this all with a very modest 7.0 average depth of target (aDOT), which means he picks up plenty of short underneath passes.

When it comes to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' secondary, they've allowed the second-most (2,173) and the 11th most (155) receptions to wide receivers this season.

With the Panthers as 5.5-point underdogs, they should be put into a passing game script, giving Thielen the chance to rack up plenty of receptions.
