Finding low-salary production is one way to get a leg up on the competition in MLB DFS.

Here are some low-salary players to target on FanDuel for tonight's main slate.

Advanced statistics courtesy of FanGraphs.

Alex Cobb, SP, San Francisco Giants ($9,100)

Alex Cobb is a top value today if you're looking to save on pitching but still get a big number.

The San Francisco Giants starting pitcher has had himself a fine season thus far. Through 83 2/3 innings pitched, Cobb has put together a solid line that includes a 3.61 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA), which ranks among the top 20 starters this season, just trailing Seattle Mariners starter Luis Castillo.

Cobb has had other respectable numbers this season, rocking a 21.9% strikeout rate and a 3.20 fielding independent pitching (FIP). He's part of one of the best pitching staffs in baseball and has been part of the reason why they've found such success.

The matchup against the Mariners should set Cobb up for plenty of success as they have a strikeout rate of 25.7%, the second highest in the majors only trailing the Minnesota Twins. Seattle's .309 weighted on-base average (wOBA) also ranks in the bottom half of the league (24th).

numberFire's model has Cobb as a top value in every way. His projected 34.7 FanDuel points are the second-most among all starters for the slate.

Matt Chapman, 3B, Toronto Blue Jays ($3,100)

Matt Chapman looks to be a good value today for DFS lineups.

The Toronto Blue Jays third baseman kicked off the 2023 season as hot as could be. His first month saw him swinging an impressive bat that resulted in a .483 wOBA. Since then, Chapman hasn't been nearly the same player but still has the pop in his bat to make an impact in any game, and he's a key part of the talented Blue Jays lineup.

Chapman's season has looked good even despite the struggles. He has a .343 wOBA which would be his highest since 2019. That includes his best hard-hit rate since then as well at 44.6%.

Chapman and the Blue Jays will take on Lance Lynn and the Chicago White Sox. Lynn hasn't been all too good this season; his home run to fly ball ratio (HR/FB) is unbelievably high at 21.0%. He's already surrendered 22 home runs this season, and that doesn't seem to be stopping any time soon. The Blue Jays are going to take advantage and could be a lineup worth stacking against the struggling Lynn.

Chapman is projected for 13.7 FanDuel points by numberFire, the fourth-most among batters on the day.

Geraldo Perdomo, SS, Arizona Diamondbacks ($2,700)

Heading into tonight's slate, Geraldo Perdomo should be a quality value for lineups.

Perdomo has had the best year of his career in the MLB first half, standing as one of the underrated reasons that the Arizona Diamondbacks have emerged in 2023. The shortstop is sporting a career-high .357 wOBA and 26.3% hard-hit rate while connecting on five home runs, which is tied already with the most he's had in a single season.

The New York Mets will send out Kodai Senga against the Diamondbacks tonight. The right-handed hurler has had himself a decent first season but nothing to be alarmed of when it comes to choosing hitters against him. Senga has a 4.27 SIERA and a 34.0% hard-hit rate allowed -- likely allowing Arizona to have their way despite his massive strikeout rate (28.5%).

The Diamondbacks have one of the best implied team totals on the night (4.73), meaning that Perdomo and company are looking to be good plays up and down lineups.

numberFire has Perdomo projected for 12.1 fantasy points.
