College Basketball Prop Bets

No. 12 Illinois Fighting Illini at Penn State Nittany Lions

Marcus Domask Over 16.5 Points (-105)

Illinois, who features the second-best offense in the Big Ten with KenPom's fifth-best adjusted offensive efficiency, gets a favorable matchup against Penn State. The Nittany Lions rank 104th in adjusted defensive efficiency while sitting in the bottom 37% with opponents totaling 73.3 points per game (PPG).

Penn State's paint defense has been one of their biggest weaknesses, for they are in the bottom 12% in two-point makes allowed per game and in opponent two-point percentage. With an interior defense like Swiss cheese, backing one of the Fighting Illini's top rim attackers should bode success.

Look no further than Marcus Domask, who ranks second on the team with 15.6 PPG. With his low three-point shooting percentage of 27.1%, Domask would be wise to take advantage of the Lions' leaky paint defense. If Illinois takes advantage of the weakness, Domask will likely be front and center as only 32.0% of his shots come from three (second-lowest in the starting lineup).

The senior forward also leads the team with the most shots at the rim with 93 attempts on the season while shooting a very efficient 61.3%. Penn State also ranks in the bottom 18% with opponents shooting 61.6% on close twos, per Bart Torvik. This once again plays right into Domask's hands.

After averaging 17.7 PPG over his last seven games, I like Domask to reach at least 17 points in Wednesday's Big Ten matchup.

No. 24 Florida Gators at No. 13 Alabama Crimson Tide

Zyon Pullin Over 4.5 Assists (+114)

Don't expect much defense in tonight's top-25 clash between Florida and Alabama. This matchup features one of the largest totals you'll see in college basketball at 174.5 when looking at FanDuel's college basketball odds. With that said, there should be plenty of opportunities for assists.

Both teams are among the top nine in PPG, and each squad ranks in the 96th percentile of field goals attempted per game. Neither defense has been exceptional as the Gators rank 90th in adjusted defensive efficiency while the Crimson Tide are at 72nd in the category. If there's one thing to expect for this game it's points, points, and some more points.

Florida's lead assist man Zyon Pullin, who totals 4.9 assists per game (APG), could deal out plenty of dimes tonight. First off, the Gators should have some advantages on offense with the Tide sitting in the bottom 22% of two-point makes and attempts allowed each contest. Meanwhile, Florida ranks in the 95th percentile of two-point makes and attempts per game. The opportunity to put up points is clearly there.

Additionally, Pullin has the eighth-best assist percentage in the SEC (25.2%), and he is averaging 5.7 APG over his previous seven games. With the Gators' offense bound for success, give me Pullin to reach five assists.

No. 17 Kentucky Wildcats at LSU Tigers

Rob Dillingham To Make 3+ Threes (+188)

Following a rough 1-3 stretch, which included three straight home losses, Kentucky has gotten back on track with back-to-back wins and covers against the spread (ATS). The defense -- which has been on the constant end of criticism this season -- has stepped up big time over the last two games, holding opponents to only 61.0 PPG while they shot 34.5% from the field and 20.5% from three.

The Wildcats' defense has an opportunity to take another step in the right direction against LSU, who ranks 87th in adjusted offensive efficiency. The defense's improvement has also led to low-scoring games with the under going 2-0 over the previous two while UK totaled only 72.5 PPG -- their season average is 88.2 PPG (third-best).

With the total set at 162.5 and LSU sitting among the top 16% with the quickest tempos in college basketball, tonight's game could get back to the Cats' usual style (top 5% in quickest paces). So, what does that mean for potential prop bets?

Kentucky has loved to shoot the three-ball all season, ranking in the 95th percentile of converted three-pointers per contest. Their efficiency has also been elite at 40.5% (top mark in the nation). No shooter has been hot like Rob Dillingham, who has made 18 of his last 29 three-point shots (62.1%).

Of course, this hot streak will eventually come to an end, but Dillingham is shooting 44.8% from deep on the season. Following a few off games with 9.0 PPG over his last three outings, the projected lottery pick for the 2024 NBA Draft could get back to scorching opposing defenses.

Dillingham is like a microwave; if he sees a few shots go down, it's goodnight for defenses. He begins to hit absurd shots from all over the floor -- even contested ones. LSU's perimeter defense could be in deep trouble tonight, for they rank in the bottom 10% of three-point makes and attempts allowed per game.

Considering Dillingham's recent hot streak from three, I like the star freshman to cash in three looks from beyond the arc. This game is gearing up to be a fast-paced, high-scoring contest, which plays right into Dillingham's forte.
